>WASHINGTON — In the wake of the Air Force grounding its CV-22 Osprey fleet over a safety concern, the Marine Corps’ top aviator said the Corps will not be following suit for its MV-22s, saying the Corps has been well aware of the issue for more than a decade. He is instead issuing guidance on how to reduce the likelihood of the problem occurring.
Based or cringe?
>problem is apparently that the gearbox will occasionally slip then catch which makes the vehicle jerk about
>usmc's mitigation is to hover for a bit, check everything is fine then ease into forward flight
>the air force isn't happy with this but the articles don't say what they'd do to fix it or what exactly their concern is that can't be mitigated with the usmc's approach
idk man without personal experience of the osprey or more detailed information i think it's a both-sides-could-be-right situation
every marine knows his fate is to die in an osprey crash so it's not really a big deal for the corps
More dead Marines are always a godsend. Army Forever.
>crayon eaters dabbing on the chair force
Based?
>mission above all else
seems like a marine thing to do honestly
Based, osprey is just like an old Detroit diesel.
If it's leaking, it's got fluid.
Don't start to worry until it stops leaking
I heard the same about Chinook.
Don't board a Chinook that's not leaking hydraulic fluid, because that means it's out of hydraulic fluid.
Unironically I wish I could, like, attach an RV to an Osprey and just fly around the world, detach from the Osprey when I wanna drive, and effectively never need to leave home to go on vacation.
Unfortunately I have a fat wiener, not a fat wallet.

Marines also like the F35 despite their awful crash record
The very nature of their jobs has a high death turn over, but that's also what makes it attractive.
They value utility to get the job done in the military instead of fretting over a few lives a year, as militaries generally should.
>Like the f35
I meant the harrier, also my favourite plane.
>awful crash record
>doesn't know that the F-35 has the lowest crash rate of any airframe
>doesn't know that the marines consider the AV-8 to be a death trap
>He doesn't know that he could have read replies that corrected myself instead of just going right to the moron posting
moron
Too bad you can't edit posts and get more updoots, redditor
The F35 is not a crash machine like the osprey, but the muhreens need VTOL in order to keep their baby carriers. Without those those they can't keep any semblance of autonomy. The osprey has already killed enough marines, they're not concerned about a few more.
>awful crash record
>F35
>we've spent too much money to turn back now!
