M1919 is peak aesthetics. Just use modern tech to allow it to use higher pressures. Pissing hot .30-06 coming out of a 24 inch barrel will keep the heads down.

Should have gotten the True Velocity/General Dynamics one. Looks better, designed better, cheaper. Take off the stock and use it on a tripod and on vehicles and you got a proper medium machine gun. Stock can be used in case of dismounting.
