How good is this going to be? $1.4 billion in funding is secured to develop and produce 24 units, development has started and will be operational beginning in 2026 to 2031
Twin turbo shaft engine with 1,800+ horsepower
8x air-to-surface missiles
4x air-to-air missiles
38x 2.75 inch rockets
M197 20mm electric turret cannon
What are they going to shoot with that, fish?
Navy is fricking gay lmao
This was a Norwegian-owned chemical tanker that was hijacked by Somali pirates, SK commandos supported by fire support from a helicopter killed all of the pirates and freed the hostage crew unharmed
The MAH-1 could be useful in these type of operations
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Dawn_of_Gulf_of_Aden
>hostage rescue
>on a chemical tanker
>use ATGMs and 20mm for fire support
do you work for the FSB by any chance?
sink chinese naval invasions
Wtf, you’re telling me an f35 is less than 30 percent more expensive than a fricking helicopter
Wait till you hear about the super stallion
>24 units
sounds like most of the money is R&D, not production
Its going to be really good at keeping MIC employees paid and fed.
it looks like its made to counter the best korea fac-s or to support landings
weird helly , why not use the apache or something similar
Make it thicker and you have a deal
I don't know man, she pretty thick already, gives my pp hard times
A HIND-D?
>$1.4b
Money printer go BRRRRR
If you want an actual ASW helo, get MH-60R
If you want a generalized maritime utility helo, get AW139
If you want a cheaper H225M, get H215M
and whatever you do, DON'T buy NH90s
in general don't buy any military equipment that involves franco-german collaboration
Seems like Korea's attempt to domesticize everything. I guess Korean MIC wants to be like frog MIC to make all their own shit.
SK seems to be pretty happy and eager to sell equipment to anyone willing to buy, and in large quantities and flexible agreements. I assume they have less political baggage or unwillingness to negotiate, like what Germongs, or Americans who seem less itnerested in licensing manufacturing.
It's basically a Hind but with good electronics and without Russian build quality. So I'd imagine pretty good.
IIRC Mexico showed interest in them to replace the last of their Mi17 fleet. It's pretty much certain that Mexico cannot get Russian parts now and they have really liked their EC725 which shares common architecture with the Marineon.
Looks like a fat seasprite
>Rambo had a fake Hind made from a Puma
>asiatics made a gunship out of the Puma clone
Life imitating fiction
Seems dumb. The apache has the same loadout already and it isn't a flying brick.
The only advantage that the Marineon could have over the Apache is possibly better armor and can carry a squad of commandos, but the price is crazy high for a helicopter
When was the last time they even used the fricking 70mm pods? It only serves as hardpoint filling.
>what is APKWS
The 70mm rockets are air-to-ground: anti-material, anti-personnel, suppression, smoke, illumination, both the Apache and Viper have them also
Advanced precision kill weapons system, basically a laser guidance system to turn the 70mm rockets from unguided to guided rockets
