Russia isn’t restricted to using 152mm guns to counter the M777. Russia has 203mm guns and a wide range of rocket artillery, all of which outrange the m777
The Ukrainians also might not have been able to utilize the range advantage of the m777 for whatever reason

Oryx counts 4 lost M777, but I don't see how it should surprise anyone that equipment is destroyed in a war. Even if the M777 is miles better than any ruski counterpart it's not some invincible wunderwaffe, it's literally a towed cannon directly based on 700 year old technology
