I have been tempted to get an optics ready slide, but I'd have to throw on another $200ish on top of it to get a compatible holster. My Safariland won't fit an optic and the kydex holster the guy threw in with the gun only has friction retention that I'm not a huge fan of.
All my VP9s and P30s have cost less than Glocks. Only benefits to Glock are the optics placement height (only really matters with an ACRO) and holster availability. Every ~2 years or so I'll go back to a Glock for a couple months and pick up my HKs again.

1 hour per CR123. It's a serious issue. Thats why I only purchase thermals that can take supplemental USB input. And purchased Nitecore F4 + BigBlue-3 Collapsible solar panels. That setup stretches me to about 100 hours before I need on good sunlight during day hours.

I would almost rather have a thermal drone, where I live it's extremely rocky and densely wooded so there's almost no areas with a clear line of sight from the ground. A drone bypasses a lot of that and you can usually still see through tree cover from above.

Yeah usually its about 3hr per the pair. Gets better if you disable bullshit but thermals are hungry as frick. USB-C magnetic breakway cables to a buttstock mounted (via your rangerband) anker pack will do a lot to extend that. But you can use rechargeable 123s in all these too.
