The entire realm of biology relies on the basis of different creatures being inferior/superior to each other and their dynamics and effects on the world through breeding/feeding/seeding/sneeding etc. To think that just because someone dies from their own weakness with no excuses that I should feel bad for them, you are wrong. They are an inferior being and I hope they didnt pass on their genes. If they were a 70 year old woman it would be different. Let all weak men pass sooner rather than later.

Seeing as you can go a few days without food and water before dropping dead it was either heat exhaustion, random brain eating virus or whatever killed that family and their dog suddenly, or a murder.

Reminds me of when I was hiking on a Georgia section of the AT back during the 2021 summer. Ran into 3 college-aged white girls over the weekend who had driven up to day hike and take pictures for their socials. None of them were prepared for hiking whatsoever.

There was a heat wave in Tucson a few years ago where several people died within a few days. One was a nurse who had recently moved here. Took her dog for a walk and keeled over. Another was a college girl who died way up in the mountains where it's normally cooler. And a couple German tourists died, IIRC.

My neighbor got lost in a stretch of woods completely boxed in by roads. Literally could have walked 5 minutes in any direction, and been home free. Granted, he got lost at night, but come on... The search party found him in ten minutes, shivering next to a boulder.

        Anonymous

There was a thing I saw, some pop-science show years back, that illustrated that the average person, when denied any fixed waypoint or other means for directional reference, would walk (while believing themselves to be in a straight line) in a roughly circular or loop-de-loop pattern and make minimal gains in their intended direction as a result.

Not how it works, you turn very slight angles over the course of miles. If you think you are headed straight north you might walk a whole day and end up facing east.
