Let's say, hypothetically speaking.

A terrorist blows all the bridges out of NYC, occupies it with an army of his followers (plus prisoners broken out from the city's prisons, and holds the city hostage with a nuclear bomb.

Realistically speaking, what /k/inds of weapons and technology would be employed in what way by the government to stop this?

Push it twice just to be sure.

Yeah, yeah, frick you too guy.

Hey, if we're so shit, how come we got people coming from all over the country to gawk at our city and clog up the sidewalk? How come rents always up because people keep moving here from small town Jabroniville, USA?

I'm not even mad. I know other places have nice stuff; I get to shoot and ski when I go Upstate. Come to NYC and get yourself a chicken or lamb and rice, ask them to go heavy on the hot sauce white sauce, you'll come around.

That said, if the Mets season keeps going this way (the way it always goes), yeah, nuke us please.

        >Hey, if we're so shit, how come we got people coming from all over the country to gawk at our city and clog up the sidewalk?
Because touristy shit is different than living there. You can see the couple appealing parts in a weekend and don’t have to suffer the other 51 weeks of the year.
        >How come rents always up
        Jews
        >because people keep moving here from small town Jabroniville, USA?
They literally aren’t. New York (and California) have had an exodus of their native population. That’s verifiable. The populations are being propped up by importing 3rd worlders. NYC is a nonwhite city.

How come you get so defensive over a pure hypothetical? Is it because you know NYC is shit but don’t want to admit it?

Are we going the route of : Wayne corp had it first or are they sneaking it in to the country?

Because making something with that much energy and bomb potential gets on some major league radars pretty fricking quick. They wouldnt need to rely on some scrappy nobody doing cloak and dagger following trucks through alleys. Finding the bomb and the trigger man would be priority one of the most highly funded and motivated government institutions on the planet. You can talk shit about muh gubmint but if there was an errant nuke on US soil being flaunted on national television they wouldnt frick around.

Then the government would have already had spooks keeping tabs on it and more than likely would have had an active hand in developing it. I can't see them making something that potentially dangerous without someone somewhere catching wind of the components needed to make it. The second these guys showed up to take it the government would know

          >Bruce Wayne is awakened in the middle of the night by a knock on his door.
          >A man in a suit, flanked by two others others greet himm
          >"Morning, it's in your best interest to come for a ride."
          >he motions to an open door of the SUV
          >"Dont worry about getting dressed, we won't be long"
          >The convoy of SUV's begin driving in seemingly random directions around the city.
          >The agent pulls out a folder containing shipping manifests, blueprints and various property paperwork and asks "So, can you tell me what all THIS is for Mr. Wayne?"

Every Radio frequency in the city would be jammed, every prison record would be scoured over for family connections and connected addresses. Agents and spec ops from every possible agency and unit would be inserted under cover of night. Suspected members of the occupying force would be hunted down, investigated and interrogated. Patrol patterns, control points, ammunition depots and supply chains would be watched and analyzed 24/7 from every angle. Fixing a game plan for a terrorist network that overt on home turf would be pretty easy.

Impossible to cut all tunnels, there are thousands of miles worth, old subway tunnels, utility tunnels, huge water carriers, underground shopping centers, utility tunnels connecting 8 sublevel parking complexes together with these. It's not even possible to map them all. When we dig on projects we just accept that we're going to find shit, sometimes some defuct lines, sometimes active shit we get in trouble over, every now and again, old smuggling tunnels, or even buried ships for projects on reclaimed land.

Fricking coyotes make it into upper Manhattan and live out there; there is space to hide.

Manhattan and Staten Island are islands that are entirely inside NYC. There are also a number of smaller islands that are part of various boroughs (e.g. Roosevelt Island, Riker's Island, Liberty Island, Ellis Island - the last two are strangely part of NYC but also part of New Jersey, but federally managed in any event- etc.)

Brooklyn and Queens are both on Long Island (almost entirely, but they also have islands, e.g. Coney Island for Brooklyn, City Island for Queens), but they only occupy a quite small part of Long Island. Nassau and Suffolk counties dwarf them in size. The Bronx is largely attached to the mainland, although it has islands too. Even Staten Island, the borough, has its own islands. The city actually spans multiple counties too, e.g. Queens is continuous with Queens county and Brooklyn is King's county.

It's a truly massive city, Brooklyn alone has more people than Chicago and Queens isn't far behind. The population stats don't do it justice, the urban areas sprawls out forever, with 24 million people, and is essentially contiguous with the start of Philadelphia (they are close) or with Boston up the coast.

It's also absolutely honeycombed with tunnels, with some of the water carrier tunnels and cisterns reaching down 2,000+ feet, while even active subway stops go 14 stories down. Crazy to think what underground combat would be like there.

It's not realistic. If you started fricking up New Yorkers' already terrible commuting experience with that shit your army would be overwhelmed by a literal tsunami of hatred, like a fricking zombie wave, before you could even announce that you have a nuke.
