A2 foregrips were NEVER meant to be shortened below full length m16a2, fricking quad rails look nicer and I’m tired of pretending that’s wrong

It's not even astigmatism the quality of the dot on those is just not good, but for $140 can I really complain about mine?

The dot on my Romeo 5 & 7 is sharp but the dot on my Romeo 7S is smudged, I think you just got a bad batch like I did with the 7S.

granted I dont use a dot for precision but rapid close 0-100m targeting, so really can't complain. I can still get 3-4 moa on milspec 5.56 and 1.5-2 on precision 77gr .223 with the R5, prone supported. It's better than irons for sure.

Ima be honest /k/. I don't like the AR. The direct impingement system is too unwieldy. Sights have to be good or the gun is unusable. Maintenance and repair requires too much tools, time, and testing. And then it jams and stops up like any other gun. I just don't see the upsides.
It's just not the white man's weapon.
Call me a fudd all you want. Direct blowback is simple and effective.

It's fine if you make it so.

        terrible bait

Refute me please. I'd like to change my mind, as I've tried to like the AR. Personally though, I just don't see it as a general purpose weapon. It relies on knowledgeable repairmem, and most of its standout qualities only really shine with full auto.

          Anonymous

I also dislike direct impingement because it's dirty, but I wouldn't say direct blowback is 'better', just 'less dirty'.
          Also there are piston ARs
          >They're expensive
You're the one that's picky. Be picky or poor, you can't be both.

            Anonymous

            >because it's dirty
All of the "rapid fire til it dies" tests have shown there is, effectively, no difference between DI and piston lifespan under extreme stress. They both fail in similar time at a similar point, due to overheat stress.

With DI, all I have to really clean is the bolt and the loading area of the upper.
With piston you would have to worry about the rod and piston getting carbon buildup. It's like DI but with more work.

If I can clean it and maintain it that way rather than have the DI decide to be gay and just stop cycling, I'd prefer piston

Direct blowback is braindead simple to understand, fix, and adjust, it's simpler than flintlocks. Direct impingement relies on the gas system, which is nebulous in its myriad of extenuating factors.

Literally the only things I don’t like about my AR are the annoying sproinging sound of the buffer against my ear and the charging handle (as opposed to a side charger) and those are personal things, not problems with the design. Plus the charging handle is such a minor thing because you only use it once.

Put grease on your buffer spring

Unironically this is about as capable as a modern AR with a freefloat tube and a m-lok rail.

Freefloat is a meme created by homosexuals and unnecessary for 98% of AR uses

        Anonymous

It makes p much anything look like a star wars gun which is I assume why most people have it
Also so they can tag a zillion lights and stupid doohickies like rear view mirrors on their guns to make them weigh a zillion tons
Then they cut 6 inches off the barrel "for weight".

          Anonymous

Yeah I think they look ugly as hell. I hate the zoomer blaster look. And what do you really need other than a light and optic unless you’re running nods?

        Anonymous

There's no reason to not free float an AR, you lose the useless weight/bulk of a FSB and make the gun more accurate along with giving you the ability to mount accessories further out.

          Anonymous

Those are such minor ‘advantages’ that it doesn’t matter much to me and it comes down to personal preference. I prefer to have an FSB.

You're not going to get through to him because all AR homosexuals care about is what is the "meta" and what is "gucci" and whatever the frick their favorite leviathan shill is saying at the moment

The post about the M4A1 with a FSB being about a capable is my post FYI. You don't give up very much with that system, but newer ones still have some minor advantages. Both will be able to hit man sized targets with the right sighting system out to 500 yards/meters with a decently trained shooter.

Accesories are not minor. Being able to mount a flashlight, red dot, and nods + scope setup is a force multiplier

              Anonymous

And you can do all of that without freefloating.

Isn’t one of the best things about fsb is that the gas block is pin and welded and basically idiot proof
