Congrats you went from 50mm of armor to 200mm. Now what’s the next step of your master plan

They made low quality 3d models of going from 50mm to 200mm

How much does it weigh now?

Funny thing is, back in the days of 'old, there was a Leo 1A6A1 or something like that, as a prototype. The armor was updated with a similar solution to the point where it could eat 125mm APFSDS and RPG's/gayots to the face all day.

They'll be playing second fiddle to Leopard 2s. I believe Greece is gonna upgrade theirs to the 2A6 standard.

But why? They have leopard 2s, why would they put money to overhauling these that could be spent getting even the old 2a4s?

Leopard 1s are lighter-weight. It's the same reasoning behind the M10 Booker's existence when the US Army has over 1000 Abrams in storage.

Because having reserve tanks is better than no tanks. Everyone has seen how easily even modern western tanks get knocked out in Ukraine.
      >getting even the old 2a4s
Lol not on the current market. Krauts and others are trying to buy back every available 2A4 on the market. Even old ass Leos 1 are hard to come by since the Scandis and Krauts are even buying Leos from literal scrapyards.

Greece is copying Italy, they will most likely do 2 things first modernazing old tanks and secondly build factories for the Leopard 2.
The EU needs the factories to create an economy of scale around that tank meanwhile the old modernized tanks despite not being ideal are more than enough if your opponent is the T72 or the T55

      >build factories for the Leopard 2
Greece already has factories for the Leo 2. I think they're the only place that makes hulls. But yeah they could build more stuff there.

Hopefully the MGCS will become the de facto European tank, that should get you some nice economies of scale once you've got Germany France Italy and the UK on the same page.

Italy won't build a Leo 2 factory. What is more likely is that they get a Lynx and a MGCS factory.
