Now just bolt some dual machine guns and let them go around terrorizing the entire range, I think it should still be remote-controlled and work in short range deployments, scaling it up to put a human inside won't make much sense due defeating the whole idea of having an expendable drone and we may still have a hard time finding a long-lasting energy output due square-cube law and AI may have to reach AGI levels to make it autonomous.

Have people been arguing that legged robots were infeasible? The argument as I've seen it is that legged robots can make sense at near human scales, but morons consistently try to turn that into "mechs are feasible replacments for tanks" which is BS. Hell a lot of the time people concede that blurry space between mini-mecha and power armor couldn't be fully ruled out.
I will argue it. At ANY scale, tracks, wheels or wings are better than legs for a combat vehicle. Lower COG, lower ground pressure, faster, lower overall weight.
