The book itself is “Without Remorse” fan fiction but it was a fun read. Hopefully they made a cool show off of the source material. If Jack Carr distilled some of his detail oriented autism when it comes to guns and gear into the production it should be fine.
I don't think they're gonna keep it 100% real with the book, I noticed three changes in the trailer - the journalist who was a blond czech girl is now chinese, her background story actually tied her to Reece, I've no idead how they're gonna do that now, the kid is like 3 yrs old in the book, and finally, his family seems to still be alive in the show.
>his family seems to still be alive in the show.
Really hope they don't screw that up. Family getting murdered is super integral to the story. The other stuff can easily be changed without too much screwing up I think.
Nah everything out of the big names needs to be shot through a marxist dogshit filter. Turns everything into non entertaining mush. Well see but betting its as good as netflix punisher and that was unwatchable.
>Family getting murdered is super integral to the story.
Yep, that and Donnie "suicide". >The other stuff can easily be changed without too much screwing up I think.
I think only the age of his daughter can be changed without too much impact, but remember that Katie's family has ties with Reece's father? She had a pretty big reason to help him, it wasn't only because she was a great journalist going after the truth.
Eh, thats easy to fudge. Just say Katie was Vietnamese/Laotian/etc and Reece's dad got her family out after Saigon fell, which would make more sense considering how much Carr worked Vietnam as such a heavy part of the mythos of Reece's dad
Yeah, there's a lot they can change to make the first book better. The series really doesn't pick up momentum until the last half of the 2nd book, and then it spends it's time losing it and coming back to yo-yo around
True Believer was great, the part where he was in Africa was really comfy. Shot out to the guy recording the audiobooks, he has a great voice. I'm really excited for this show, hope they have multiple seasons with the storylines from the books.

I agree on all counts. The newest book is kinda "meh" but the ending has me interested, I just hope the next book isn't one of those terrible prison life/breakout plots that always ruin a good thriller series

Oh, I've just started "The Devils Hand", I'm still in the part where POTUS is being described, I honestly don't really know what this one is gonna be about, but I'm 100% sure that Reece is gonna save the day. >I just hope the next book isn't one of those terrible prison life/breakout plots that always ruin a good thriller series
Haven't read it yet, but I hope so too. It seems very hard to keep up with the quality when you have a shitton of books, kinda like tv shows with 10+ seasons.
Also, I wanna buy a Land Cruiser and G55 AMG now lol

Also, the trailer has the ambush being in some kind of sewer/tunnel, which is way different from the book.
not after the precious incident lmao
can't wait for this film to bomb fricking hard, frick GBRS, frick Forward Acquisitions Group, frick all of the instagram brovet Black folk
Fan fiction indeed, it was a fun read for the detailed bits but I wouldn't read it again. Carr pretty much does what he wants the whole time and faces zero obstacles. >my super rich mexican friend helps me kill the cartels >my pilot friend flies me all over the US >a military base just lets me drive off with an arsenal in my truck >nobody even searches for me until the end
The best part was the end where he makes the snap judgement to open fire whether the detonator is connected to his waifu or not, that's the kind of call I would expect from the MC.
If you're looking for a similar read, try and find Gray Man by Mark Greaney, it's a very similar vibe but more interesting because the MC is hunted the entire time, actually gets wounded and by the end of the book he's shot to shit, burned, stabbed, stitched up and pretty much collapses into a coma after shooting the big bad.
>mfw anyone that actually saw shit during GWOT did it decade ago and most are nearing their 40s
yeah tell me more about that time there was intel about some raghead having an AK in their truck and it turned out to be nothing, 2015bro
>loyalty over integrity >implying one doesn't need to have integrity as one of the virtues to earn loyalty as a biproduct of said integrity
This is what happens when you don't make prior infantry service as mandatory for SOF.
>Loyalty over integrity
What the actual Dunkin' Donuts frick shit does this garbage mean?
Does that mean you should be loyal to your GBRS death squad for kicking in civilian doors and blasting them over having the integrity to off yourself before serving the ZOG? Yes.
Yeah and it ain't like the book has some super complex story anyways. Dude gets fricked over by the government and has his family killed by the cartel. He then proceeds to get revenge.

is spoiling the story for you then you haven't ever heard of the show before.
Protagonist is a seal who finds himself and his troop in the middle of a conspiracy involving an experimental drug that can "cure" ptsd, they're the test subjects, the thing is: the drug doesn't work and there's huge side-effects, so the set up an ambush on the team to kill anyone that took drug, protagonist somehow survives and they try to hunt him down in US soil, some gangbangers hit up his house when he wasn't there, his family dies and the story starts. Read the book, it's probabaly better than the show.
>Zogbot revenge fantasy ghostwritten for a Seal by some redditor in a publishing house content mill >The cover is literally the brainless wojak meme
Makes sense.
>The book was not written by the author. Inside the sleeve it says that Jack Carr is a joint pseudonym. They do this so that insecure men who fetishize navy seals will hand them money to read a ya book with guns. Is that better?
CQB "flow" is a meme created by SOF throughout GWOT that only works for their extremely niche mission set of shooting opium farmers while they sleep in the middle of the night who are completely unprepared. Doing anything other than tossing frags into every room and window and mag dumping into every hallway will get you and most likely entire fireteams worth of guys killed very VERY quickly. All it takes is one fricko posted up on a fatal funnel to take all of your CQB flow gun-fu bullshit and throw it all in the trash.

If you don't read the book as a Jack Carr self insert then you aren't doing it right.

Are you mad because you thought Jack Carr actually sat down and typed this book up?
No he's pointing out that your babble is damn near incomprehensible. moron
Do you not know what a ghost writer is? Or a content mill? Are incapable of researching terms you are unfamiliar with?
don't you see, if he uses more buzzwords his message will be completely incomprehensible to people outside his bubble, mission accomplished.

He's true
Any other books similar to the Terminal List? Doesn't have to be a revenge plot.
