probably the repair cranes and other equipment left on the bridge

      Very nice get
This seems the most likely to me. M31 doesn't really cause fires unless there's something pretty rich fuel in the area.

Smoker blew up construction equipment by accident. Digits confirm it wasn't western wunderwaffe

what are the tactical implications of repairing a bridge in range of enemy artillery?

Bridge still fricked and now you're minus a bunch of engineers and equipment? Seems straightforward to me

    >strike bridge
    >wait couple of days for vatniks to "repair" it
    >do it again

Looks to me like someone barbecuing on the shoreline behind the bridge, nothing crazy

Doubtful. They aren't accurate enough to reliably hit a bridge. If they were Ukraine and Russia would've been doing it since the start of the war

They usually use these to hit the deepest ammo/fuel depots and railyards. Also rare strikes into Russia itself.
I doubt they’re wasting these on the Kherson bridge and used the reliable Himars.

Compare it to the position of the crane, and then observe that something is burning. Could it be the construction equipment?

Isn’t it already the 8th in Ukraine? I thought it would be so I named it that way.

If yyyy/dd/mm, is 8th of July.
If yyyy/mm/dd, is 7th of August. This is the only logical solution.

The dam (or something near it) was also hit.

The Russians are pulling out but want the dam destroyed to ensure the water flows to Crimea.
