Koreans love that, because korea is extremely mountainous. Europe, except for Norway, is not, neither are most other places and when they are standard suspensions still do just fine.
Will be interesting to see if the next gen bothers with it, but I wouldn't count on that since for everybody but Korea it's not worth the price, greater maintenance and inherent unreliability of an unproven system. >And let's not even talk about its top attack shells
America considered integrating those on 3 separate occasions. Turns out it's just really not worth doing for a 120mm gun in a tank and will just get you killed by dedicated artillery with about 10 times the range.
Also top protection systems have been making rapid advances, Rheinmetall already unveiled it's own and you can bet your ass it'll be standard on the next gen American tanks with upgrade kits for the Abrams.

Alright buddy. First off the tech. It's got a doppler radar integrated into the FCS, allowing for target acquisition at 9.8 kilometers. Abrams don't have that. And while you complain about the protection, it's only 55 tons, perfect for European bridges. As for the suspension, while Europe doesn't have many mountains, it will keep the crew much more comfortable. As for the gun it's a L55, designed in Korea, and fires smart munitions. To take Rheinmetall's example, they announced the start of mass production in the same year poland would be ready with starting their mass production of korean tanks if poland sees 0 delays.
If they leave out the proprietary hull and just offer the turret as an upgrade package to Leos (which was the whole point of proving they could mount it in a Leo based chassis) they'd be even faster.
If you actually read the post you responded to you'll see that I laid out pretty simple conditions where the K2 would be a good choice.
If you want the latest tank right now that's not really it though, because those tanks Poland gets sent and doesn't produce will be of an older model with the shitty side armor among other things.
So no, you're wrong on every account, ironically >just buy abrams
Holds true.
>Actually still cheaper
Why not source that shit if youre so confident? Remember to use your brain and figure out that the k2 price will go down significantly due to polish factories and the norway bid. >same year poland would be ready with starting their mass production
And which mental illness do you have such that you think poland will get 100% of production off a german factory for as long as they want? And assuming no delays due to german bureaucracy. Kiddo, I suggest a little more reading on your part.
First its price then its production. You literally cant name any other tank that can compete with the k2 in both categories at once. If you have nothing to say then just stop typing
>Remember to use your brain and figure out that the k2 price will go down significantly due to polish factories and the norway bid.
Source? Starting a brand new production line costs a lot of money. Abrams are already built
>why not source >also I won't give one just vague promises >also Poland's gonna produce 720 tanks abd only starts in like half a decade but afterwards they're totally gonna be cheaper when the next generation is already on the market
Lmao, how about you stick to your own standards before asking others to do so? >And which mental illness do you have such that you think poland will get 100% of production off a german factory for as long as they want?
Nobody wrote anything even remotely close to that you dumb weirdo and who the hell cares about Poland in the first place in this conversation? They're not a potential buyer, they already bought it.
God you're dumb. >And assuming no delays due to german bureaucracy. Kiddo, I suggest a little more reading on your part.
You have no idea what you're talking about it about Rheinmetall's history and most importantly they have the entire infrastructure set up already, Poland doesn't.
All those smaller deliveries, subcontractors, infrastructure availability and specialized steel production that's in Germany but not poland?
It adds up a lot and is literally what takes the longest time set up and integrate, which is why chances are that for quite some time, maybe forever, poland is going to have to import most of it. >First its price then its production. You literally cant name any other tank that can compete with the k2 in both categories at once. If you have nothing to say then just stop typing
Lmao wtf are you talking about anon? The K2 isn't particularly simple to produce but the US could still shit out more in a year than korea in 10.
But the realities are what they are and you being angry because I talk about it won't change it.
Germany won't be able to produce hundreds of new tanks in few years. Germans themselves are going with L2A7 instead of new tanks since they are too expensive and barely offer anything new. 130mm guns are too big and unnecessary and reduce ammo storage.
K2 is the best mass produced tank you can get today. By far. Abrams may have better side armor but it's not better enough to protect against anything Trophy won't handle. Diesel engines are far better economically than turbines. It has better gun, optics and FCS. It has soft kill APS on top of Trophy. Frontal protection is on par with Abrams. Maybe even better since it's a smaller tank with lower profile. Especially turret has better armor scheme than Abrams due to having only two people inside.
>It has better gun, optics and FCS
This is true about the abrams. Korean FCS leaves a lot to be desired. What can you expect from the country that produces exploding phones
>Germany won't be able to
Stopped reading there.
You're clearly either a delusional Pollack or hook who failed to grasp the points of my post. It's not even about Germany in particular.
Stay obsessed and inferior.

Yeah, those were old news and they've signed off a real contract just last month.
https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/poland-signs-execution-contracts-for-k2-mbts-and-k9-sphs-from-south-korea >Poland signed execution contracts with South Korean industry for K2 main battle tanks (MBTs) and K9 self-propelled howitzers (SPHs) on 26 August. Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak approved the contracts for 180 K2 tanks and 212 K9 SPHs on 26 August in Morąg, northern Poland, his ministry announced on its website the same day. The signing followed the 27 July framework agreement between Poland and South Korea for 1,000 K2 MBTs, 672 K9 SPHs, and 48 FA-50 training and light fighter aircraft.

Wrong. Its the other way around. The M1s are the cannon fodder mbt for the front line to occupy the attention of any opponent, essentially meat shields. The K2s are the cavalry that is charged with actually destroying the opponent. If Poland does get to 1000 K2s they could realistically take Moscow if provided air and sea support by NATO.

This is wrong. Polish MOD wants the sepv3 as the capital tank and the k2 as a fallback. Abrams is much better armored with better optics and a better FCS.

M1 has better armor and Polish military doctrine is going to have the M1s in the front line, again, meat shields. The M1 has a weak main gun compared to the K2.
Again, in Polish military doctrine which is designed for generally flat terrain there needs to be a front line to absorb adversaries attacks and the M1s best in class armor is perfect for this, but its a cannon fodder role.
The K2s will be the calvary, far more powerful weapons systems and with the M1s make the perfect flat terrain land warfare combination.

Only turret sides. 480mm vs 300mm. The thing is 480mm won't protect you against any modern AT weapon anyways. K2 has very similar frontal armor but significantly smaller profile.

Its a respectable amount of mbt units. In comparison, the UK has 227 Challenger 2s and France has 222 Leclercs.
The Challenger 2 is $5 million per unit, the Leclerc is $4 million per unit.
The K2 is $9 million per unit so 180 units is a significant investment, its an mbt designed to have 3x+ force multiplier over anything Russia has operational. Memes and trolls aside its by far the most advanced mbt, as a data point, the main gun has a range of 10km with greater kinetic force and accuracy than any other mbt on the planet. In comparison, the M1a2sep3 has a main gun range of 5km with less kinetic force and accuracy, and the M1a2sep3 pretty much mogs every other mbt in the world. How long would it take to close a gap of 5km to 8km to even get within range to hit a K2 while the K2 has identified and targeted even before an adversary gets within a 10km range?
>Germans themselves are going with L2A7 instead of new tanks
New tanks aren't out yet and Germany is set on rebuilding its forces.

This seems like the perfect thread to remind SK posters about the unbridled success of the HIMARS. HIMARS has a ton of orders and chunmoo has a possible sale to Poland, that’s it. The HIMARS also has a possible sale to Poland, and the polish favor the HIMARS over the chunmoo. Poland is considering purchasing some chunmoo to drive down the price of HIMARS. The HIMARS has more units produced, incredible combat record, and more signed export orders. Never let Korea shill forget this
What is a good s&p index fund that costs less than $50? I want cheaper shares because I’m stacking in my Roth IRA and I can only contribute $6000 a year. The share price matters to me because I want to stack them by the hundreds to sell covered calls on

Its painfully obvious too when you see other nation-themed threads pop up >kraut threads: lighthearted meming about german autism >brit threads: poking fun at the madness that is brit acquisition and goofy looking vehicles >jap threads: muh anime and secret JSDF gundams
Meanwhile >korea threads: immediate and rapid personal attacks and no-u'ing at anyone who dares laugh at korean perfection
>korea threads: immediate and rapid personal attacks and no-u'ing at anyone who dares laugh at korean perfection
Korea threads are unlucky enough to attract both poles and koreans who sperg out in very different ways, which compliment each other to create a very unique kind of autism.
Koreans will just yell random facts at you without connection to the conversation. Poles will call you a Russian or German and then argue for hours with anything they say being based on either assumption.
Honestly, I'm not gonna seriously interact with either, but watching it has been rather entertaining.
No, most Korean weapons threads are vatniks crying blood that Poland is buying shitloads of those systems and will soon have an army much better than Russia ever had. That's it. Everything else is vatnik trolling and trying to bait people into hating each other.
The reality is 1% of poles are butthurt over germany and 0.1% of germans are butthurt about poland. It's all bullshit.
>The reality is 1% of poles are butthurt over germany
I actually used to believe that too and only found out that there's a minority (I hope) of poles that really fricking hate Germany and a political party in charge that blames Germany for everything after the war had started.

Abrams are already built
>why not source
>also I won't give one just vague promises
>also Poland's gonna produce 720 tanks abd only starts in like half a decade but afterwards they're totally gonna be cheaper when the next generation is already on the market
Are you just pretending to be moronic?
All this K2 hate is pure cope.
>K2 is the best mass produced tank you can get today.
this, so much this, feels good being a SK CHAD on the right side of history
>It has better gun, optics and FCS
This is true about the abrams. Korean FCS leaves a lot to be desired. What can you expect from the country that produces exploding phones
>Germany won't be able to
Stopped reading there.
You're clearly either a delusional Pollack or hook who failed to grasp the points of my post. It's not even about Germany in particular.
Stay obsessed and inferior.
Get a life seriously. All this crying over K2 in last few weeks is hilarious.
How many k2s have been exported?
Not a single unit. Turkey is building 250 Altay which are license copies of the k2 but that’s it
Techinal export does count as an export record tho.
A thousand? Not much. Also, Egypt and Morocco are in talks of license manufacturing a thousand each.
>1,000
Show proof. South Korea hasn’t sold a single black panther to anyone outside of South Korea.
Have you been living in a cave or something?
Do you not know what a framework agreement is? Did you think this was a signed purchase order kek. Is this really the best SK has to offer
Yeah, those were old news and they've signed off a real contract just last month.
https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-detail/poland-signs-execution-contracts-for-k2-mbts-and-k9-sphs-from-south-korea
>Poland signed execution contracts with South Korean industry for K2 main battle tanks (MBTs) and K9 self-propelled howitzers (SPHs) on 26 August.
Fall in line.
180 tanks isnt a lot of tanks.
Because that's the first batch that are entirely going to be produced and shipped directly from Korea. President Duda announced that they will be rolling 1000 K2 in the future himself.
>President Duda announced that they will be rolling 1000 K2 in the future himself.
This means nothing. Poland will never produce k2 tanks. Once they have 250 sepv3s they will be good and leave Korea holding the bag
Dude, they're already getting ready to set up production lines with a due date in 2024 as that's part of the initial contract.
Thanks South Korea! No refunds on that free factory
At this point you're simply moving the goal post to save your face, my congratulations, anon, what a dork you are!
The K2s will be the calvary, far more powerful weapons systems and with the M1s make the perfect flat terrain land warfare combination.
moron. Poland is getting HIMARS. There’s no need for a shitty tank round that reaches 10km. Abrams tried it and decided to use apaches with hellfire instead, which is a way better allocation of funds than a shitty cannon fired PGM.
>M1 has better armor
Only turret sides. 480mm vs 300mm. The thing is 480mm won't protect you against any modern AT weapon anyways. K2 has very similar frontal armor but significantly smaller profile.
>Polish MOD wants the sepv3 as the capital tank and the k2 as a fallback
Complete bullshit. Abrams is the stopgap they can get fast. K2 is the future.
We aren't moving goalposts here, are we? 😉
>Germans themselves are going with L2A7 instead of new tanks
New tanks aren't out yet and Germany is set on rebuilding its forces.
Why are you making shit up?
>this, so much this,
Kek
>buy iphone isntead of samsung!
Yes unironically because I'm more familiar with Apple's UI and the benefits of Samsung don't outweigh intentionally pissing myself off with Samsung's dogshit
Pure cope.
Seethe
wow this looks very innovative and not like another M1 clone at all.
A Challenger Appears.
I wish the germans named it panther 2. the amount of outrage would have been hilarious
God, she is so pretty.
>globohomosexual even made the panther black
Why do the Norwegians want these?
See
Norway is the only European country where buying them isn't moronic.
Ok...
Why such a elevation gun?
Are they gonna try to shoot down choppers or planes with them?
>inb4 muh shooting up hill
if you're on flat ground trying to shoot something up hill you did something wrong and deserve to die
>inb4 muh shooting up a building in an urban warfare scenario
MBT shouldn't be roaming alone in the street
This seems like the perfect thread to remind SK posters about the unbridled success of the HIMARS. HIMARS has a ton of orders and chunmoo has a possible sale to Poland, that’s it. The HIMARS also has a possible sale to Poland, and the polish favor the HIMARS over the chunmoo. Poland is considering purchasing some chunmoo to drive down the price of HIMARS. The HIMARS has more units produced, incredible combat record, and more signed export orders. Never let Korea shill forget this
Nothing makes Korea seethe more than the HIMARS and all of its positive PR and export orders.
Based HIMARS causing worst Koreans to seethe
Damn
What is a good s&p index fund that costs less than $50? I want cheaper shares because I’m stacking in my Roth IRA and I can only contribute $6000 a year. The share price matters to me because I want to stack them by the hundreds to sell covered calls on
Well MY country has an even bigger dick than both SK and the US combined!
D:
what's up with the asiaticsquad shilling every thread? Apparently SK makes the best tanks, the best planes, the best boats and could take on china or the us without a problem, if the korean posters are to be believed
Go back, Mitsubishi.
Thinking about Japan? Why is that on your mind? HIMARS
>wöö everyone who doesn't like my moronic shilling is a jap!
keep shitting up the board with this nonsensical shit by all means, if you think this is a good look for you, worst korea
It's one or two guys.
They are utterly convinced that the only possible reason why somebody would disagree with their "Korea Stronk!" posturing is if the person is Japanese. Conveniently, he is showing off this tendency in this thread.
Other greatest hits
>hates all countries besides SK and USA
>is obsessed with BTS
>is convinced that SK can take on any country besides USA
>he will call you a jap if you disagree (he will call me a jap most likely)
Its painfully obvious too when you see other nation-themed threads pop up
>kraut threads: lighthearted meming about german autism
>brit threads: poking fun at the madness that is brit acquisition and goofy looking vehicles
>jap threads: muh anime and secret JSDF gundams
Meanwhile
>korea threads: immediate and rapid personal attacks and no-u'ing at anyone who dares laugh at korean perfection
Korea threads are made by butthurt germans mad that K2 is ruining Leopard sales.
>butthurt germans mad that K2 is ruining Leopard sales.
Kek, this isn't /misc/ or PrepHole, anon.
Stick around a bit longer and enjoy the banter.
Nobody wants to get bludgeoned with your forced meme tho, anon.
>korea threads: immediate and rapid personal attacks and no-u'ing at anyone who dares laugh at korean perfection
It was very weird at first.
I was told they have the best gun as their service rifle too.
It's a shitty AR copy.
