Just ordered the Cyclops microprism from Primary Arms. Anybody have experience or opinions of this? Seems pretty solid and they tested it on thousands of rounds from a SCAR.

Yup, and AR500 tested their chinese scrap metal plates "to NIJ standards" too. Seriously, why? A 1x prism? So unless you have severe astigmatism and can't correct it with glasses, no upsides and all the downs vs a true red dot?
This is for a PDW. My rifles have an acog. I prefer having optics with a etched reticle backup.
>I need a gimmick on my optics to defend my consoomerism
>instead of buying something tough with spare batteries in the grip
Christ almighty
Not him but an electronic optic can fail you zoomerhomosexual. Batteries can fail. Having a etched reticle is a good idea, it eliminates at least one potential point of failure. Not saying holos and red dot arent good, but prism is good too
dude just say you wanted a cheap optic for the least amount you could pay for it. You'll change your mind.
I just gave you an actual argument. You accused OP of "consoomerism" yet now you are literally using "ITS NOT EXPENSIVE SO ITS BAD" as an argument. Also i own an Eotech and will also purchase the Microprism soon what now?
>it's cheap therefore it's good
not what i said
it has an etched reticle, which is an advantage. i wont repeat myself AGAIN zoom-zoom, read my post
1x prisms are fricking moronic. It has all the downsides of a prism optic and a red dot. Literally just get a dot.
Do you practice your tactical battery reloads?
I just picked up the 3x variant OP, and am pretty happy with it. it's ridiculously small. really like the reticle since it's the same concepts as the ACOG chevron for holds
for what its worth, my austigmatism can't be fixed with glasses or contacts, and it's bad enough even eotechs look like a shitshow on low brightness
>I just picked up the 3x variant OP
Same. Just ordered a second one so that should tell you how much I like it.
>1x prism
Lol, lmao
>muh ligmatism
Turn the dot down, moron
Without shitposting at me or calling me poor, why should I save for an acog variant over primary arms? Looking for a 2-3x prism.
>pros
Battery powered
Cheaper
Focus dilator
Weighs less
Better warranty
Cool reticle because ACSS ACOGs we’re a limited run
>cons
Chinkshit
Glass clarity not as good
Won’t survive an explosion
Micro prisms use TA44 mounts which are less common
You won’t get validation from ACOG owners
>validation from ACOG owners
honestly I have the 3x microprism and a TA11 (3.5x) and it's
80% of the TA11's clarity, 100% of its eye relief and 80% of its generous eyebox
for
1/3rd of the price, 1/2 the weight and 1/3 the size.
I still want to get more ACOGs, it's overall a nicer optic of course, but there is something to be said for size and cost.
I’m trying to sell my ACOG so I can buy another gun or two, it’s nice but I don’t think optics will be regulated soon
I have a pretty unlikely doomer feeling that material to produce them will become more expensive, but you're right I can't imagine optics being regulated unless they pull some "military style assault glass" bill.
I'm looking at an ACOG/RMR combo right now because A) the asbergers of my eyes and B) it's lighter than an eotech on a unity/magnifier FTC combo.
but my focus is on armor and whatnot instead for the moment.
PA has an offset mount for the micro and you can just pop one on top of their older models if you find that interesting.

Thanks for sharing that priced link. Its twice as much with just searching for it. Bought one back and two front plates last night. Have two XL esapi plates but these are way lighter and dirt cheap. I have three osprey vest systems to fill out, one with ceramic. One with PE. One to train
Sorry, here is a good coupon code

Wanna buy mine? The glass is great
what flavor you got?
I'll have to check out the additional mounts. the 3x PA is on one rifle and another I got an EXPS on another. as far as armor, I have lvl 3 plates but looking to get 4 because yolo my dude. gracias though for the links
Fiber optic/tritium TA31 with a RMR, I’ll be willing to trade

Still interested?
sorry m8 got busy. email sent
if you have eyespergers just skip the RMR and save $400, it's awkward as frick anyway unless you buy an offset and even then it's a bit fricky. You can shoot an ACOG with both eyes open with a little practice.
I just see a lot of seething about it being bad but zero actual statement of what is actually a problem with the optic. If you really hate it then give me a reason not get it. Ive been looking at the 3x variant.
Seems to be a solid optic, just buy it and make a thread reviewing it once you shot it a bit and share your observations. everybody wins that way including /k/
I've got the 3x. The eye relief is not amazing but that's to be expected with a magnified prism. It's not as clear as PA's larger prisms (you'll notice a slight yellow circle) but you're trading that for the size and weight. Overall I love the thing.
And despite what /k/ says turning down the dot does not help with astigmatism and glasses do not help in my case. I usually just live with it but in this case it is not necessary.
>And despite what /k/ says turning down the dot does not help with astigmatism
Astigmatism symptoms vary wildly despite the same root cause. What works for one sufferer doesn't for others.
For example, I can't use Eotechs. They look like a fuzzy blurry mess and I can't aim with them. I can (and do), however, use Vortex's UH-1 holosight just fine, despite there not being any theoretical difference in operation between the two. /k/ at large loves to talk out of its ass and assume one anon's case must be all anons' circumstances too.
The 1.5x mini acog is actually pretty cool, eyebox and eye relief is like 300% better than sticking your eye on the 4x
Correct, but for some reason they charge like $800 for it and that's with no mount whatsoever. I would get it and can justify spending $800 on a x4, but $900 for a 1.5x is not something I can.
No experience but heard good things. Primary Arms in general has a good reputation it seems. Enjoy your purchase and if you dont like it maybe you can send it back and get a cheap sig or holosun red dot. I heard mixed opinions on the sig optics however. Let us know when you get the PA and how you like it.
I can afford an acog but got the PA just for the diopter adjustment...wish trijicon would stop sucking so much wiener and get with the times
I have no doubt that whatever they come up with in response to the cheaper alternatives will be absolutely amazing and better in every way. But it will cost 4 times as much and happen in ten years.
have one in 1x, it's really nice
can't attest for durability as of yet but seems well built enough. gets very bright, wish the glass was a bit clearer and less distorted but it's not awful. and i wish the adjustments were finer than 1 moa but i only use it for cqb so it's fine for me. i really like the brightness adjustment dial i wish other optics used it
