It’s not that. I just haven’t seen a single video of a kill with any mounted manpad. So it’s not really a hit against starstreak if all the mounted manpads have been equally useless
IR missiles (which most MANPADS are) have no real warning other than visual detection, especially for older aircraft like the SU-25. Said SU-25 either didn't see the missile which is likely as it was behind him, or didn't have any flares left.
The unit symbol is right there, it's the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". Come on anon, this is /k/, you should know this. Don't know them to the battalion level though, but I suppose that's the anti-air battalion attached to them, judging by the patch.

Those flares didn't do shit, it just missed.
MANPADs are IR guided, which can't provide an automatic warning to a targeted aircraft. Only radar guided missiles do that.
