So what REALLY happened in iraq?
Russian made weapons systems went up against western made weapons systems in combat and the obvious happened
>russian made systems
And French systems from the 1970's that hadn't been maintained or upgraded for 30 years
>So what REALLY happened in iraq?
The combined arms doctrine of the United States of America completely annihilated the Iraqi army. Any other questions Ivan?
>2003
You mean 1991 but whatever.
Iraqi tanks were dug in and their best shell (in limited numbers) was something that could not pierce the Abrams at any realistic angle. They had extremely poor visibility and were getting shit on by our air wing constantly. The best tank in their arsenal was a downgraded model of the t72a which was shitty in the 70s and was god awful come the 90s. That being said, the vast majority of their tank fleet were Chinese t series knockoffs and t55s which were even worse.
The whole panic about le republican guard was unfounded and parroted by people who didn't know enough to be talking about shit like that. The truth is, we could of rolled into Baghdad in super Shermans and still won the war no problem. The meme about "SOVIET EQUIPMENT IS JUST WORSE" is idiotic. Its true that in western equipment is better but the Iraq wars are not an indicator of this
>The truth is, we could of rolled into Baghdad in super Shermans and still won the war no problem
Hush, don't let Pierre Sprey's ghost hear you.
>something that could not pierce the Abrams at any realistic angle
>this is what burgers really believe
So how many abrams did we lose, gay in 1991?
How many Abrams were hit from any angle? Couple Abramses were tactical kills to BMP-1 canon hits.
How many US abrams have been lost, ever?
iraq used t72m1s (procured both domestically and from russia via export) which is more or less on par with the t72a. you're confusing the t72m1 with the t72m, which was the downgraded t72 export model.
Thought they had Czech built T-72M1s?
Nah there was a contingent of retards (Scott Ritter included) who were screaming up and down that Iraq had learned from Desert Storm and was forged into one of the most formidable armies on the planet in 2003.
I remember initially believing Ritter back when I was a gullible Political Science student during early GWOT. Since his re-emergence in the immediacy of the Russian invasion as well as his current takes, I found a few of his older takes that are so mind-bogglingly retarded that I need to go take some pictures/scans of shit from my ancient textbooks and prints for fun.
>Scott "Child Diddler" Ritter
also the media always sell fears since it sell better, the same reason you keep hearing about Russia being anything else but a pile of disappointing shit
if anything it really help them sell a ""news"" every week when they just repeat Russian propaganda
I doubt the old media of ww2 were allowed to put profits before anything else using defeatism and yellow journalism str8 from the enemy's propaganda departement; I miss seeing Popeye skullfucking a jap battleship with his bare hand, I miss that self-confidence and it's made even worse by the fact that there is no one who can rival the USA right now
Can't believe he is dead.
Everyone strated dying around.

Complete aerial dominance is a helluva drug
Iraq had competent men, but a doctrine stuck in the 40s.
The coalition had competent men, and a doctrine specifically designed to counter the enemy they were facing.
>It is hard for many today to remember, but the run-up to the Gulf War saw many predictions that Iraq would inflict massive casualties on the United States, and even that Iraq would defeat the U.S. military. Many analysts predicted that a war would be protracted and costly to the United States. Former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski forecast 20,000 casualties, while Patrick Buchanan predicted 30,000. Senator Ted Kennedy estimated that there would be some 3,000 U.S. casualties per week, while former Secretary of the Navy (and current Senator) James Webb warned that the U.S. Army would be "bled dry" in three weeks. On the eve of the Gulf War, a group of analysts operating under the auHispanices of the U.S. Army War College wrote "We should ask ourselves whether we are prepared for [war with Iraq] -- in our view we are not."
Extreme over reaction to expectations of Soviet wunderwaffe gear in the hands of a battle hardened Iraqi military, twice.

>Lite Industries has a rush order for 4,000 body bags, part of a contract for 16,099 that suppliers say was let by the Defense Department on Dec. 11. Other companies, including C. R. Daniels of Ellicott City, Md., and Rubbercrafters of Smithville, W.Va., are also filling orders.
>The Pentagon, which now calls the product "human remains pouches," would like to say as little as possible about this aspect of the deployment.
you can't beat helicopters with tanks
The Abrams triggers so many people its funny.
Its just something the boys down at Chrysler whipped up to trounce the boys over at GM.
Did they used to be a darker green, or have my eyes just been bleached by years staring at tan vehicles in the desert
You mean pile of shit that got shat on by a brvzilivn bvll and only became good after chrysler got bailed out (and only exists as a chrysler M1 because of the bailout)
Bunch of moronic sand people had a bunch of Russian weapons dumped on them that they used to try and start ww3 dune edition but they got assblasted to shit twice by 10% of the US’s power.
One country’s violence of limited action is another country’s apocalypse sometimes. Way she blows
Freemasons on both side colluding the outcome of a war as always.
>russian equipment
>arab officers
The military history of the ME in the second half of the 20th century, basically. Israel already knew this, but the US had to relearn the lesson a few times before it stuck.
Surprisingly enough, the world didn't truly understand just how much the combination of Russian equipment and third world soldiers underperforms until 2022.
Arabs are subhuman race that can't into war, they got owned by Chad for fuck's sake.
