I’ve been a tool owner since 2003, however I’ve just been buying mush-mash bullshit

Snap-on, cornwell Matco Walmart Home Depot what ever wherever

What’s the best way to sell tools I don’t want anymore.

Like I have a 12-point 1/2” Stanley socket set I don’t want anymore that I bought at Walmart for exactly one use. Decades ago.

Also A lot of tools from my dad who always bought the cheapest possible shit so I have unbranded no name sockets that don’t turn fasteners well

You know the type, no name just has the size stamped on them

I’ve been selling off the Thorsen and other brands over the years though

Honestly, you might as well sell them at the pawn shop and take a big hit. Might be a couple more bucks posting all the shit on Faceberg Marketplace, but dealing with the buyers on those sites is so annoying unless you’re selling it as one big lot.

I got tons of stuff like that. Mid-90s chinkshit and stuff I inherited or picked up along the way that I just don't care about. I have an entire (also inherited) late 80s Craftsman roll-around stack full of the shit.
I was planning on dumping it all out on the garage floor, sorting through it one last time, and melting down what I don't care about. If I didn't feel like doing that, I'd just throw it away or dump it in the local st vincent's drop box.
Or maybe craiglsist idk. But then you have to deal with morons. I'd rather throw it away and consider that my paying the universe that 25 bucks I would have made to not have to deal with morons.

Was going to say this too, donate the shit, maybe a local technical college would take it.

Also depending on the amount and how you do taxes and shit, maybe the donation with an MSRP of $2000 to the local tech college is more worth it to you than trying to sell the shit for $60 to rando from the internet.

Power tools and stuff move pretty quick, but if you have random hand tools and socket sets missing bits, it’s going to be difficult to make enough money to be worth your time unless it’s all tool truck shit. Like you can go on CL, and people all sell tools as a “take it all” lot with a shitty Craftsman $99 tool box and every single 10mm socket or wrench missing.

There’s ebay consignment places too, some Mac wrench sets or Cornwell torque wrench could be worth selling through a place like that.

One of the ideas was throwing it in one of my dads old crappy 90s tool chests, the no name ones from Kmart back in the day that was probably a Black Friday ad.

Tossing the sockets on a rail, riveting it in there , so everything has a spot or just making foam inserts out of foam in the garage taking up space and trying to sell it to some Mexican or something that doesn’t have shit for money and shit for tools and can’t afford an $80 complete set from the store

Leave them at homeless areas, they need them to take apart bikes.

Put some chore boy in one of them shallow sockets and it’ll make for a crack pipe.

        >shallow socket
Meant deep, probably 1/4” drive. Sorry, too much rock today.

I've been using tools for over 40 years. I keep everything and use the cheep stuff wrong.

I offloaded a lot of stuff to my little brother. At some point I don’t need the 14V NiCd B&D drill or 85 extra Craftsman screwdrivers.

Find some kid that wants to get into DIY and gift it to him.

I have a drawer full of extra sockets and another full of extra wrenches. I will probably move them to ammo cans here soon just to free up more drawer space. I do grab one once in awhile to modify for a specialty tool so I really don't want to just get rid of them. Shit like chucking a cheapo socket in the lathe and cutting down the wall thickness so that it is super thin for limited clearance stuff.

I’m assuming you are in the US; auction consignments are popular in my area and they usually bring top dollar. Find a local auctioneer that regular hold online auctions (usually through Hibid) and just add all your junk to an existing auction.

Throw the shit in a bucket and use them to make specialty tools as you go. You should know this.

Guy with a YouTube channel. Comes in with some bad and wrong takes, can’t stand to watch him as you can hear how fat he is just from the timbre of his voice. Plus his giant fat hands and arms. Probably here trying to gain viewers. Calls himself the tool addict or some shit. Doubt he actually wrenches for a living.

He doesn't by chance shill Ridgid tools, and have a pack of Newports in every camera shot does he?
