I almost picked one up years back when they were still marketed. FN pulling the plug on the civilian version so fast made me regret not getting one

For me it was years ago when I was faced with either an ATI Galeo or a FAL from Onyx arms for 800. My dumbass never realized what I passed on, what hurts more is that the Galeo I bought must've been made on a off day because the headspace was fucked
You can buy a JRA Gallant which is the same thing as the Galeo for 900
Had the chance to buy this 1 year ago. It still hurts.
Also a Famas in 222 back in 2013 and a mothballed enfield in 2015.
Burger here, I had someone offer me a TIGR for $3800 back in 2021 and I hesitated.
Tried messaging him back a week later but it was already sold.
That sucks. Missing out on the folding tigr at least made me less hesitant for future purchases. A few months after that in september I came across a mint soviet svd and jumped on it. (Even got a fair price at 2k euro)
I remember seeing an SVT in my LGS 10 ish years ago for $1200. not that I had the money to drop on it but holy shit
>mfw SVTs are now double for a standard refurb
backed out of getting a super vepr for 900 after the import ban
Same. Wish I had gotten a VEPR or an SGL whenever they were lime 900 bucks. I guess my SLR107CR is the closest thing I'll ever get.
Test
This beat-up Maadi that was for sale for like $800 last year.
I don't know what it is about them specifically but I like them more than any other 7.62 AK. To me they're what come to mind when I hear "AK" and I want that for my collection.
I passed on it because I was broke as fuck. I still am broke but I was then too.
Back in 2007 a dude was going to sell me a pallet of a bunch of boxed up milsurp rifles for $1200. Lots of carcanos and nagants, but there was also random rifles thrown in there too like a mas 36, lebel, a couple mausers, and some martini Henry looking rifle that I couldn't really make out. Turned it down because I wasn't collecting as much as I was buying and reselling milsurp. A lot of those rifles weren't worth the hassle at the time, but in hindsight, I need my ass beat over missing that deal. looking back, even the nagants would have been a hell of a deal by today's standards.
>$300 Haitian mauser in 2015
I just couldn't justify spending that, since I was fucking poor.
>$850 service grade garand, and $950 1903a3 in fucking October
I'd already dropped over my budget on a No.1 Mk V and a Frommer Stop. I couldn't justify another almost 2 grand, but that was a nice deal on the garand. Fuck.
My friend has one, he picked it up years ago for a good price. I've never shot it, don't think he's ever shot it either. The whole thing feels like a fucking nerf gun, has shit ergos, the tube site is fucking terrible, the trigger sucks. Beyond collector/meme value for your favorite video game nostalgia there's nothing good about this gun. It's purely just a collectors piece and if I actually wanted a bullpup I'd just get an Aug. You're really not missing out on this gun beyond making good money selling it in a few decades
A G3 with several mags for $300. I was in for a pistol though. This was 16 years ago sooooo.... still wish I made a different choice.
I had a chance to buy a LNIB FN FNC paratrooper for $2700 around 8 years ago when local fun store got a bunch of rare prebans from an estate. I decided I wanted a Polytech Legend instead. Stupid fucking mistakes man.
A Boys AT rifle converted to .50 bmg
for $1800
Zastava ZPAP or NPAP i don't remember, poly thumbhole stock for 400 friggin dollars. Oh well.
An 1899 Krag Carbine that sold last summer. There was a really nice rifle right after this carbine and I figured the carbine would go for way more. I should've just bid on it when I saw it about to sell. Saw it listed by a dealer on gunbroker 4 months later with a 50% markup that sold within a week. Now, I'm find myself looking for either a Trapdoor carbine, a Krag carbine, or a matching K98k.
PW87
Charles Daly Triple Honcho
CZ rami
VEPR 12
K31 and GP11
an MG42/3 kit
AK and FAL parts kits before they got expensive
5 years ago I got a Cooey Canuck Junior. The first rifle Cooey ever made. A guy offered a numbers matching Israeli K98 in 7.62 NATO complete with matching bayonet for it and I passed. Dumbest decision I've ever made.
Mosin in 2014 for 300$. Now they are almost tripple that at any local gun store. I think I am just going to bid on finn and chinese ones now.
lol
They were overpriced at $150 Anon. Get an Enfield, Mauser, or K31
I'm an Aussie and when I got my gun loicence in 2005, you could buy a SMLE for $150 - about a hundred USD - and take your pick of the twenty on the back wall of pretty much any typical gun shop in Australia. I always thought "Ah I'll get one later," and when I finally fucking did I paid $400AUD. Now they're hovering between $1000-1400. Should have bought ten of the cunts.
SMLEs have increased to the price of K98ks now which is crazy but I don’t really shoot mine anymore due to lack of .303
K98ks are fucking bonkers expensive down here but .303 is still reasonably easy to get at least.
I had a buddy offer to sell his ak47 for $500. Unfortunately I had quit my job the day before and didnt know when I was getting more money.
The Romak-3 aka PSL aka FPK. I know it's fairly inferior in the grand scheme of things but it looks beautiful and Mona Sax gives me a stiffy.
My bro. Max Payne is half the reason I still want to get a shotgun eventually
Wish they didn't get so expensive. Don't even come with scopes anymore AFAIK.
Mid '90's, Wildey hunter with 12" bbl at a gun show. $8-900, iirc.
passed up a beretta cx4 storm 10 years ago. Kick myself everyday. They're allot now. It's allot of kicking.
