homosexual, I meant a brand, make, model, etc. So sick of pompous little antichrists shitting up threads by being purposefully antagonistic and homosexual. Frick off.
The only failure to feed Ive had with either of my 9mms was brass case fmj Winchester white box. That includes thousands of rounds of mixed steel, brass, fmj, hollow point, 115-149 grain.
These things are fun but i have gotten some super wonky results through different mediums with them. Did a fairly thick piece of cowhide over a ballistic gel and the damn things wouldnt go more than 8 inchs in the gel and in all sorts of directions . Did the same thing with thick pieces of Denim and the things went like 12-13 inchs everytime and went fairly straight. Super weird
>None of these meme rounds are gonna reliably cycle.
That why you buy more than one box and fire 50-100 rounds to make sure it's good
You can afford more than one box of defense ammo, right?
i want to believe HCD is good, but I've bought 3 boxes of the overpriced bullshit now and every single box has had casings with loose fitment to the bullet allowing me to spin the bullet in the casing
plus one box had half the rounds underloaded to the point they wouldn't even cycle out of my carry gun
Thats crazy if those our critical duty rounds. I have har them open up more but i guess it all depends on what they are fired into. Ive dropped 3 hogs with 135 +p critical duty out of a Smith 986
Hornady handgun ammonia shit.
Thier critical defense or whatever buckshot is rivaled only by federal flight control.
Gold dot on the other hand, only the 9mm is good, literally everything else they make sucks.
This, I use 124 +p, but they all perform really well.
HST, ranger T(if you can find them), PDX 1 or whatever which is basically a ranger T, and gold dots are the only things worth buying in 9mm.

I use the cheaper version.
I don't really need the barrier penetration, and it also seems like a bad idea to ice a nog with cartridges that have LAW ENFORCMENT plastered all over the box.
Definitely not that. Total meme that doesn't perform as advertised. If you actually have to shoot someone they may not expand, there's many documented cases where they didn't against actual clothing, flesh, and bone.
Federal HST, Ranger T (black talons), and Underwood (or Lehigh) xtreme penetrators are the only defensive rounds you should bother with. The Ranger Ts are controversial, while the edges may rip more flesh, they may also hook onto harder tissue and divert the round. There's literally nothing wrong with HSTs. With the penetrators you're just using them for armor penetration or big animal fricking. So stagger a mag or have your second round only be a penetrator, so a double tap will penetrate armor then you go back to rounds that don't icepick.
I used to be picky with ammo before 2008 but with all of the shit that has happened since then sometimes just finding any ammo regardless of brand is acceptable.
However, I really like how some brands are trying to push a line of Ammo that has both FMJ for training and hollow points using the same loads of powder and weight of bullets for supposed consistency when shooting both types of ammo.
if I want to load my own, what is a good projectile+recipe for a carryround. I can care less what ayooob says. I'd rather be in jail than dead by Black person.
Trash, with few exceptions. Contrarians dont like it but the honest best CC ammo barring sub 3.5" bbls are your typical top of the line duty loads for LE use. >buh buh muh penetration, muh lack of barriers, muh expansion
no fricking idea what youre talking about. bullet jelly =/= flesh in a 1 to 1 way and doesnt even begin to factor in bones, you fricking drive a car too if you EDC and carjackings are very much so a thing, expansion is 99% a meme outside of extremes like comparing a .22 LRN to an expanding low velocity 12g slug. Thoroughly bonded moderately(but reliably) expanding JHPs are the way, and thats just what most LEAs look for.
How are the Norma MHP 9mm 108grn? I picked up a few boxes a while ago when it was all that was left during coof droughts but I have yet to even see if it cycles well in my guns.
Is there a general rule of thumb when selecting a grain weight for a specific barrel length?
I've often heard lighter grain for compacts and subcompacts as they can sometimes fail to get a heavier round fast enough to expand. Is there any truth to this?
Or is it really down to preference and reliability in a gun?
That's not ranger T
Agree, it’s why I carry it.
Agreed. .32 whizbang needs all the help it can get.
>leather
uh oh stinky

Ok we.
some day kid, you'll grow hair on your balls like your pops
Liberty Ammo Ultralight. It's the only way.
too low of penetration but definitely frickin up 3 to 4 inches of flesh.
What a stupid comment.
The only one whose stupid is you when you get shot trying to clear your failure to feed
>doesn't suggest an alternative
If you go back up you will see he said FMJ.
homosexual, I meant a brand, make, model, etc. So sick of pompous little antichrists shitting up threads by being purposefully antagonistic and homosexual. Frick off.
Post guns

How's life in the 80s?
Clean your fricking gun.
3 to 4 is all you need baby!
The virgin slow and heavy vs the chad king of velocity.
Another King. Very based.
Someone should make these in 22LR
>implying
finally, a knower. love these.

Give me the 68gr for beating level IIIA
But do they feed ok?
I've magdumped a box or two of them before and they fed fine.
None of these meme rounds are gonna reliably cycle. Standard issue FMJ is the best
Lehigh Defense Xtreme Penetrator bullets will cycle just as well as ball rounds.
>None of these meme rounds are gonna reliably cycle.

L-lewwwwwd!
I use gold dot
Based model 66 enthusiast
>Now show us her hole
L-lewwwwwwd!
Those are some of the worst performers of the defensive handgun cartridges
Excuse me, how many times have you been shot?
More than you
>assuming
Black person that's hit a vest, you can see the crosshatching
Ohh. So good...
The heavier critical duty suck even worse
Thats crazy if those our critical duty rounds. I have har them open up more but i guess it all depends on what they are fired into. Ive dropped 3 hogs with 135 +p critical duty out of a Smith 986
its the red thing that kills you. I hear its made of cyanide
>cyanide
Close, mustard gas.
Oh fug
It's actually troony jerky
The critical duty were not designed primarily for flesh, they were designed for barrier penetration too, like car doors.
>penetrates 12" in bare gel
>is barrier blind
Kek
Underperforming mediocre bullshit. Hornady just has really good marketing and widespread availability.
Pic related is the true goat.
.380 loading is supposed to be decent
Hornady handgun ammonia shit.
Thier critical defense or whatever buckshot is rivaled only by federal flight control.
Gold dot on the other hand, only the 9mm is good, literally everything else they make sucks.
Yeah, Hornady Critical Defense Buckshot and American Gunner Buckshot is the best for semi auto shotguns.
critical defense is supposed to under penetrate, i wouldn't use it in a carry gun.
It does.
Who Shoots GOATS that you need a specific ammo for it?
HST Chads rise up!
This, I use 124 +p, but they all perform really well.
HST, ranger T(if you can find them), PDX 1 or whatever which is basically a ranger T, and gold dots are the only things worth buying in 9mm.
Golden Saver also puts in the work.
I use the cheaper version.
I don't really need the barrier penetration, and it also seems like a bad idea to ice a nog with cartridges that have LAW ENFORCMENT plastered all over the box.
They sell it in 20rd boxes for "civilians", but you can get it online for like 70cpr in the law enforcement boxes.
Federal punch no longer comes nickel plated just FYI. Federal makes no mention of this to the consumer.
This was already solved 3 years ago, and its not Hornady.
Spoiler: He fricks up the 147 HST tests, as people point out, but even with the frick up, its the clear winner.
Definitely not that. Total meme that doesn't perform as advertised. If you actually have to shoot someone they may not expand, there's many documented cases where they didn't against actual clothing, flesh, and bone.

>Federal HST,
>search Federal website
>30 Super Carry
>40 ShitFrickCrap
>no 10mm HST
Did I miss it?
124 grain standard pressure remington green and white box is fine by me.
I used to be picky with ammo before 2008 but with all of the shit that has happened since then sometimes just finding any ammo regardless of brand is acceptable.

I think Sig and Remington are doing it, who else?
That's not Gold Dot.

In general, Norma defensive pistol ammo is trash, as they are brand new to the game.
I would assume it's shit simply due to the weight.
