Putting the TOW launcher on the M2 IFV was dumb as frick. The ammo on board takes the space 3 infantrymen so it couldn't carry an entire squad. It made sense on the M3 CFV as that variant has only 5 crew.

I'm kinda moronic, but can you explain a little better, anon? The BFV's TOW stored missiles don't seem to get in the way much since soldiers mount their rucksacks to the outside and the missiles sit on the sponson shelf/under the seat

If the US had one of these in the Revolutionary War with a trained crew, fuel/ammo and support team could we have stomped the British without French help?

Probably not. Bradley's tracks aren't the best, and simple barbed wire is enough to disable one.
Doctrine would probably have it used as a mobile fort over mechanized cavalry for this reason.

Barbed wire hadn't been invented yet.

It's a bit old and outdated now, interested to see what will happen with the replacement, new millennium IFVs are cool.

Pointless aesthetic barrel shroud that serves no purpose

I believe it's to protect and have somewhere to mount these wires going to the muzzle, which are either measuring muzzle velocity for the FCS or have something to do with the time fuzed AHEAD rounds.

The Puma can’t use ahead, moron. It’s just for protection of cables and staff.

Oh they're calling the 30mm ones ABM, same shit as AHEAD though

AHEAD is ammo that needs a radar, Puma doesn’t have that and can’t shoot that ammo.

Yes but the 30mm ABM effectively works the same way, with a time fuze set by a device in the muzzle brake which also measures velocity.
