Its 2024?

Its 2024, /k/ has taken over and the new law of the land is that EVERYONE in the US is required to own
>1 handgun
>1 longgun
and will be provided one if they cannot afford one. What one firearm would you send everybody, from the SEALS to the grandmas?
For me itd probably be a simple 4 inch .38 revolver just for ease of use alone

Trying to get every technically able bodied person the same gun is gonna mean a lot of .22's and dinky little pocket pistols. Unless you institute a training program so every grandma can fight like they're a babushka or an old mexican lady, then you've just managed to screw up the .22lr market

Just like MonteBlack but we go straight for the cheap shit instead of waiting for the cheap spanish copies. Just go with hi point 2s if they ever unfrick themselves and get producing or PSA daggers. It'll be like yemen where everyone's jambiya is openly displayed but however much titanium coated shit equals your status in society. If were going all murrican or some shit then it's 1911 I guess.

    Not far enough
It must be required that you carry at least one at all times too

Maybe a P226/365XL for the handgun and some random rifle/shotgun

    Everyone needs a boltgun

This needs to go back to being a nation of riflemen, where accuracy is valued

Owning some long barreled semi auto should be encouraged but everyone should be given a boltgun

Marlin 336 and a Colt SAA. Also, cowboy hats are now mandatory.

I would make a montage of all the new arms plants being built and starting production with the red alert hell march playing in the background.
After that Everyone under 14 years old and over 40 years old gets a 22.
Everyone from 14-40 gets their choice of a 30-06 bolt action rifle or a 12gauge
    pump action shotgun.
Of course everyone will be required to learn proper and proficient firearms handling, ie basic shit so they dont ND into someones chest. If they cannot meet this minimum then they will be barred from having a weapon.
A choice of a 1911 or an M9 as a sidearm for persons over 20 who are in good standing and have shown proficiency and safety with firearms and an overall responsible mindset, ie pistols will be treated as a privledge in the way that military officers have them.

Barrel salvaged from an M61 Vulcan and nig-rigged into a 20mm AMR
surplus handguns from the military and other federal organizations, so mostly M9s

If we're arming the country as a government mandate then they'll need to be cheap, simple, and preferably American made.
    >Handgun
Surplus M9s until we run out, then M17/M18s. Whichever they get they will come with a basic gunbelt and holster.
    >Longgun
Maverick 88, comes standard with the 18" barrel and a sling. Citizens have the option for either a 28" field barrel or a 24" rifled barrel. They have the option to spend $50 and get both spare barrels.

I'd also add that in order to receive these free guns you'd need to complete a 1 hour class on the basics of firearms safety and handling. Classes will be available anywhere there is a DMV office and guns can be provided immediately following completion of the class.

Additionally, open carry will be legal across all 50 states.

Thats all fairly reasonable. But I have my doubts on granny goodcook being able to handle a 12g

Give her some mini shells or low recoil buck and she'll do fine. The b***h pads Mavericks ship with soak up a ton of recoil.

I think the standard combo should be a Charter Arms 38 (in case of hippies) and a Remington 760 Game master (in case of Black folk). Also everyone has to take a mandatory 3 day camping trip annually

What is the purpose of the policy?
    1) For citizen militia to be armed against foreign enemies?
    Or
    2) For domestic law and order, so citizens to keep their communities safe?
For the first one, A2 clone and M9
For the second, pump 12ga and SA .22 revolver

A combination of the two I suppose. General target hardening. Make every home a beehive, every school a wasps nest, and every sports event an impenetrable wall of death to any would be rapist, foreign agent, or mass shooter

In my dream world an FN FAL and Beretta 92fs, in a realistic logistics world, probably some cheap basic bit AR-15 and a Glock 19

instead of a handgun and rifle for every house i would give out 1 free shotgun, a maverick 88.
Cheap, reliable, versatile, hard to conceal, and american-ish made.

More houses will be defended but there shouldn't be a significant increase in crime since you cant exactly sneak up to a cash register with a shotgun.
Stores and buildings would have a rack to rest your shotgun while you shopped if they didn't allow you to open carry.

    >long gun
New production, contracted rifles derived from the Springfield 1903A3. Chamber in either .308/7.61x51 or .277 Fury/6.8x51. Use stainless steel for all parts, since most people will just shove it in the dankest room of their house for 20 years. Replace wood with polymer, but try to keep the aesthetic. 18" threaded barrel with thread protector that blends with the barrel. Add mounting points for either a normal or scout scope. Alter receiver to accept box magazines and ship with two 5 round steel mags.

Bolt actions make for good starter guns and I think even the most seasoned gun owner would appreciate a small, handy scout rifle in whatever DMR caliber the military is fielding.

    >handgun
    Sig P320, 9mm. It's the simplest solution.
