It's the export name of the Armement Air-Sol Modulaire.
Someone found a better name than the original "AASM".
Just a marketing trope for export.
Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range
This.
I always assumed France would have given them more weapons to be tested, even for shooting inside Russia. Maybe they are, and just doing it sneakily.
The AASM has been used in combat for 15 years already so the only relevant tests would be against some modern Russian air defenses.
What a weird design for this weapon, between a Maverick and a Gbu.
It's a Mk80 series bomb with a front guidance kit and a rear propulsion kit. Comparable to the South African Umbani but without a large pair of wings. There's nothing weird about it.
There are 4 variants, AASM 125, 250, 500 and 1000. In kg. And 3 versions of the guidance kits exist for each variant, as well as 4 different propulsion kits, with either inertial GPS guidance, inertial GPS + laser, or inertial GPS + imaging Infrared. Currently only the 250 variant using a Mk82 series bomb or similar is fielded, but the 1000 variant using a Mk84 bomb is entering service with the F4 standard of the Rafale this year. The Mk84 bomb can be replaced with a BLU-109.
All of the variants are labelled SBUs.
The max range is between 50 to 70km according to available sources.

Looks like vatniks are gonna get their butts hammered.
The weirdest part is that they haven't made a winged variant yet. Seems like an obvious way to double the range for little additional cost. Like a SDB with a booster, making low altitude toss attacks viable from stand-off ranges.
He straight makes shit up so he has something interesting to post. It's not 100% garbage but more like 50% information and 50% "it came to me in a dream" filler.
Doesn't matter that he's on the Ukie side, he's still unreliable source.
Ukraine waited too long and now the Russians are catching up. The ukies did not commit to the counterstrike, which I suspected due to fearing high casualties. Instead, all they have done is weeding out stupids and incompetents from the Russian army. Ukies have another chance when the F-16s come into play. Don't piss away this chance. Commit fully and suck up the casualties. Don't stop until boots are in the Kremlin.
>Let me play my tiny hammer for you
Cute hammer =)
>RU artillery strikes hit civilian apartment blocks
>Arrete! c'est le temps de martel!
>chuck pharrer
>RU troops attempting to mine the Dnipro set out their own naval mine.
I don't even know what to say
There's a video if you want
Post it

>This is called autofellatio in medicine
lost
That is what the commentator actually says in the video.
That was a funny video especially w Magyar's commentary
Why is it called Hammer? I thought the French were pretty consistent in using their own language to name weapons.

How many F-16s does Ukraine manufacture per year?

Russian air defense indeed can not touch them
