Isn't punching somebody with a pistol a terrible idea?
What If I push the slide back and cause a malfunction in the process?

Yeah
try it on your wife and children first to get the hang of it
this is why you whip them with the butt instead.
pistol whipping is a very well known concept
punching is retarded.
>this is why you whip them with the butt instead.
This is even more retarded. If a situation is such that you have a pistol drawn, the literal, absolute last thing you should be doing is breaking your grip to hold the gun by the muzzle. Just jab someone in the face with the muzzle (intensely painful) or "slap" them with the muzzle. This way, you never lose your grip.
i mean, the pistol whipping isnt something you do in self defense. it's something you do to intimidate and dominate someone that isn't armed. it's a bully technique.
Not necessarily. When I was in the army, we used muzzle strikes a lot. It's for situations in which the use of lethal force is potentially imminent... but not QUITE there yet. Intimidation can be a very valid tool in self defense.
Compromising your potential to use your own weapon while in arm's reach of threats may be part of a good group tactic while you've got equally or better equipped guys there with you backing you up, but that's a digression from the "self" part of a discussion of self defense.
honestly i think id prefer to punch someone with the muzzle than slam someones skull on the magazine. But realistically id shoot them before either of those options
Buncha notrainings, you hit them with the top of the slide.
If it worked for Big Pun, it'll work for me
>What If I push the slide back and cause a malfunction in the process?
I assume you're no guns if you don't know why that won't work
I own a Kimber that I haven't fired in like four years, why wouldn't it work though?
But isn't "jab"ing the same as punchng?
There are different kinds of punches, anon. The point is to never break your firing grip if you have to get aggressive. The jab is throwing the muzzle straight down the middle. The "whip" is more like a hook or a cross.
>I own a Kimber that I haven't fired in like four years, why wouldn't it work though?
Go get it and try pushing the slide back versus pulling it
Yeah, it's very rude
>What If I push the slide back and cause a malfunction in the process?
You won't.
You won't.
Yes. Why would you punch someone with a gun?
that's the thought behind these cringe "strike face" compensators are.
the fact you only ever see this shit on larper gear and airshit tells you how practically useful it is in real life.
I'm surprised compensators aren't more common on automatics but does it fuck with the action if it doesn't get tuned?
>Isn't punching somebody with a pistol a terrible idea?
muzzle thumping is a viable means of less lethal force when the situation calls for it
>What If I push the slide back and cause a malfunction in the process?
you can't muzzle thump someone hard enough to knock your pistol into a malfunction. there isn't enough movement that can happen to facilitate anything more than your gun being out of battery during contact. IF you pull the trigger while trying to perform a contact shot, it won't fire.
>Holding a gun
>Punches someone
Instead of
>Holding a gun
>Step backwards
>Shoot them
Distance is the best solution, alternatively grappling with off hand, pull into a high ready close to your body and just mag dump into their chest.
Surely a muay thai style elbow strike would be best if you want to globber someone while holding a pistol, no?
This is why you mount a flashlight so it sticks out.
You hit them with the flashlight and keep your slide safe impact.
