My dad is arranging the living room laminate to face in a different direction from the kitchen tiles?
It looks fucking weird and retarded as fuck but he's claiming it's some kind of construction rule that the floor tiles are supposed to lead to the windows...
help plz
Once he's finished and you stop sperging out nobody will think anything of it, other than "what a lovely new floor". Go to your room and eat your tendies, the man has work to do.
Its literally brand new cause the apartment came with cement only and he's doing everything from scratch but it's my apartment and he dgaf about what I want at all
Like what am I gonna do rip out thousands of dollars of new shit to rearrange it in 2 years when I have enough money? Or just seethe every time I look at it?
Do you own the place?
If so tell him to f off and you either DIY or hire someone.
If he owns it and you live there, then stfu.
>daddy bought the apartment
>daddy bought all the construction materials
>daddy is doing all the work
Be grateful.
>it's my apartment and he dgaf about what I want at all
Sounds like he's spending time and money on you and doing his best to make your life better. You sound entitled. Work on yourself.
>Or just seethe every time I look at it?
This is a YOU problem. get over it.
He wants everything to be only what he likes and he is making me miserable
It's supposed to be a happy time but he won't even let me choose a toaster
He bought the apartment "for me" but literally won't let me have any input on my part of it not even anything at all
He also got mad at me for an entire day yelling because I got some bathroom mats he didn't like and threatened to sell the apartment and flip it for profit if I didn't return them even though I bought them with my own money
>He bought the apartment "for me" but literally won't let me have any input on my part of it not even anything at all
>He also got mad at me for an entire day yelling because I got some bathroom mats he didn't like and threatened to sell the apartment and flip it for profit if I didn't return them even though I bought them with my own money
wait since when do you OWN apartments? dont they usually get rented out? also if its new why wsnt it ifinished to begin with? you leaving out alot of details here, sperglord. if hes not living in the apartment tell him you will decorate it with whatever you like. either that or use your own money buy your own apartment and dont rely on your daddy to give you that "I bought it so I will decide what you do with it" mentality
goddamn...
lots of people own apartments
lots of apartments and houses get sold unfinished
how old are you
Brits use the terms a bit differently. "Apartment" in the UK is equivalent to condominium in the US. I believe they normally use "flat" to refer to a rental (apartment in the US), but not 100% sure on that.
Flat isn't a term to denote that it's not multiple stories?
by your logic a lift is an elevator that only goes up
got love americans
Your lifts go down? I thought you.had bungee cords on the top floor.
I live in eastern Europe stuff is different here, most apartments come unfinished.
He will be visiting like once a month cause it's in the main city. He also told me I HAVE to get a sofabed WITH STORAGE and washable covers that is also UNDER $800 USD
Like moron all the Ikea sofas that fit those requirements have horrible reviews except the expensive ones .. and now he's going to waive the washable cover requirement so we can get it from some random website for cheap
The washable cover requirement is like the one thing I actually needed due to dogsmell
So now I have to have a worthless POS in my apartment
We already have two bedrooms with two beds, one of which I won't use the bed on. So I told them they can obviously sleep on the other queen size bed when they visit.
But theyre stubborn af and said "I'm not buying a new sofa when you have kids and need the parents in law to visit" and shit like that
Like moron I'm 26 and I don't even want kids
Also they always buy cheap garbage and then it breaks in a month and I have to deal with it
Anyway I currently don't have a job or money saved up and I don't have the desire or time to go apartment hunting
I would have to rent and they don't allow animals so I'm fucked
Lol. You need to cut the ties as soon as possible instead you are concerning over bullshit. One day you will regret of all the time wasted with this.
T. Retarded basedchild redditor
Idgi
How do I cut ties when they give me money? I can't find a job below poverty level lmao
>they don’t allow animals
Lol explain, what do ya got bro?
I got three bunnies and a Yorkie
>He bought the apartment
It's his. You're just there for now. When you're gone, he's going to rent it.
>He wants everything to be only what he likes and he is making me miserable
Oh boo hoo. Cry me a fucking river.
>He bought the apartment "for me" but literally won't let me have any input on my part of it not even anything at all
Because he bought it with his own money. You live here for free. You have food and a bed. Thats all you need.
>He also got mad at me for an entire day yelling because I got some bathroom mats he didn't like and threatened to sell the apartment and flip it for profit if I didn't return them
Based? Your dad is fucking based. Shut the fuck up, kid.
daddy....i kneel..
It ain't gonna suck itself
>he's doing everything from scratch but it's my apartment
why did you let him barge into a place you paid for and do all sorts of work? I realize he's your dad but politely and firmly tell him you paid for it and you want it done the way you like. If he argues kick his boomer ass out.
>Free labor from a loving father
>Complains about trivial aspect
Stfu.
Shut up, you ungrateful gay.
Your father is doing this for you, and you have the balls to say his work is not "pointed the right direction".
Holy fuck you are the most insufferable loser I've ever seen on PrepHole and I've been here since the board was created.
Fpbp
It looks good, stop sperging. If you don’t own it, this whole thread is bait. As an owner, I will never remodel stuff that doesn’t functionally have to be remodeled.
This. OP is a fucking princess
I've always just heard that they should run the longest length of the room, which both looks more aestically pleasing and is generally easier to boot. Sounds like that probably jives here anyway.
the floor and tiles are never going to be the same size
it would look much worse parallel because the edges will stagger along that diagonal cut
perpendicular is absolutely going to look better.
but it also depends on the sizes of each room.
typically narrow rooms you lay length to length, so your photo is awful because it tricks the eye into the living room being narrow.
post a better picture.
why the fuck are there so many redditpostes in this thread ffs.
Your dad gets it
And guy gets it
It would look horrible parallel, there would be way too many not-exactly-matching lines, and you’d have triangle pieces of laminate near the edge which would make it even worse. Normally the length of the room matters but this is the only way if you have a diagonal edge like this.
Wondering why it’s there in the first place but we’ll that’s not what you asked
>why the fuck are there so many redditpostes in this thread ffs.
Are you referring to line spacing? If so, just give it up moron, it has zero to do with redit, and everything to do with personal preference. Like for example, some of the other spergloards throw a fit when a spergloard like yourself does not capitalize the first letter, and puts a period at the end when you feel like it.
tldr, grow up child
there is no such thing as reddit spacing, ive told these tards many times spacing existed way before reddit and any social media platform
I prefer to space instead of reading one giant clusterfuck paragraph
>Are you referring to line spacing?
>there is no such thing as reddit spacing
What they're calling "reddit spacing" is when you hit the return key twice in order to create a space.
^Like I just did. You don't have to hit it twice in order to create a new paragraph, but on reddit you have to hit it twice in order for it to break into a new paragraph. This is supposedly a "tell" that the person using this type of spacing is a longtime reddit user.
I think the whole thing is pretty fucking gay because I was using spacing for the sake of clarity and readability on based chans long before I ever went to reddit. Also, who the fuck thinks they can look down on someone based on the platforms they use while they're on a cucked shitbox like PrepHole lmao
>"for the sake of clarity and readability"
>long run on lines instead of using paragraphs
Pic related. Its you
looks fine on my pc 😀
its not looking down on someone for using reddit
its looking down on ugly stupid and inefficient posting which just happens to be referred to by the name of a much worse cucked shitbox site
if you love reddit so much why dont you go back there
People always have double spaced, I've been here 16 miserable years. There's nothing "inefficient" about double-space. Do you not use two spaces between sentences either? Oh nvm, you don't even use sentences, you just dump a stream of consciousness into a single line, say "yup, looks good!", stumble your way through captcha, and manage to shit your idea out into the world.
You are completely right about the tile orientation though it would totally look like shit trying to line them parallel. OP, your tales tell of a strange Slavic parent child relationship, but if Daddy is paying for everything just let it go, learn to detach from this shit.
I'm wondering the average age of the user base on PrepHole is. I had to take composition classes in grade school way back in the day, and they taught us what paragraphs were, and when to use them. Teachers even used a "IP" symbol on their markups of your homework to let you know when you wrote too sizeable block. Nowadays kids just dump 1000 words in I e paragraph with no commas or periods. It's weird to see what I was taught decades ago referred to as something completely different and invented less than 10 years ago, with a negative connotation to boot.
I think a lot of the "problem" comes from the difference in appearance of a post on PC instead of a phone screen. I'm on a PC and I read rather quickly, so what might look like a wall of text on a phone is really just a couple of reasonable sentences to me.
condo = condominium. It's attached housing-- but unlike a townhouse, you don't own the land underneath it.
what in tarnation
then how does the ownership work
here when you bit am apartment you also get rights to part of the plot of land the building is standing on
ive never used reddit, nor care to. I always space down shit just cause its a force of habit. so fuck anyone who says its always a reddit user.
OP, have you heard of "under my roof, under my rules"?
If your dad isn't going to show you enough respect (from your POV) then don't choose to live in an apartment that he's paying for. Don't accept gifts or considerations from people that come with strings attached unless you're comfortable accepting the trade-off. You're an adult-- you don't have to live under his roof anymore. You don't have to let him tell you how to live life, UNLESS he's paying for your lifestyle and then he pretty much gets to shit on you as much as he wants.
If it's not working out well between the two of you, then don't accept his gifts. This is an important life lesson.
>This is an important life lesson.
LOOOL OP will be still be whining about his parents when he's 40 years old. Consider the fact that they bought the place and are now down on the floor doing work for him. They spoiled the shit out of him and guess what, he's a spoiled brat. Funnily enough, both parties in a dysfunctional relationship like this actually love it.
Exactly. An adult is free to forge their own path. They are also 100% responsible for the consequences of their own decisions. That mean's if OP continues to suck on daddy's teat, they continue to live with their dad's controlling tendencies. They are free to change this at any point by simply sacking up and taking a hold of their adult independence.

Reddit spacers are immediately disregarded as retards.
>it's some kind of construction rule that the floor tiles are supposed to lead to the windows...
I don't know about that. I'd say you want your flooring long grain to parallel a dominant wall. You also don't want different tiles/flooring in the same direction. What your dad is doing is fine.
The sun should run perpendicular to the 'grain' of the floor. He's doing it right anon
>The sun should run perpendicular to the 'grain' of the floor.
why is that?
Anyways they also forced me to get rid of my other pets and abuse me daily
In America, an apartment you own is a condo. But condo is really just a marketing term because you can also rent condos.
OP. You have zero leverage here. This is your dad's project. You don't get a say and quite frankly, you're acting like a child. FPBP. When your name is on the ownership, then you can do what you want. Until then you either have to suck it up and be grateful your dad loves you or can tell him you don't want it and go buy your own place.
You don't even own it or probably even pay rent...stfu
