They were used to kill thousands in assaults, and serve no legitimate sporting function. They're dangerous and their only function is to kill, so they should be banned in our next assault weapons ban.
What do you think, /k/?

>no sporting function
Various cultures used them for hunting. Hell, the Andean peoples used them to herd llamas.
>need to guide herds of llamas in a specific direction
>don't want to directly spook them; no good if livestock are afraid of people
>sling stones at them with incredible accuracy
>stones impact the ground near llamas and startle them
>slinging the stones to specific places helps guide the herd
Not a sport sorry, plus you have alternatives

I didn't know slings snap like a whip, cool
They should make the sling be a weapon in the Call of Duty video games.
Definitely. What defines something as an "assault weapon" is not its physical features but whether it contributes to toxic masculinity.
I'll let nato explain

>Deep Dive Recap: Small Arms and Light Weapons and the Gender Perspective
>Mr. Watson first outlined the key components of the gender perspective in the work at Small Arms Survey. He explained the highly gendered nature of statistics for global firearms related deaths and violence and the need for disaggregated data. In 2020, 76% of victims of violent deaths by firearms were men, mainly young men, where in some contexts they are the leading cause of death. Before possessing this type of disaggregated data, the broader picture may not have incorporated men as vulnerable when discussing SALW.
>As well though, Mr. Watson highlighted that men are also the majority of perpetrators noting that “firearms-related violence is often directly related to male gender roles”.
>He further explained how these gendered roles, bias and expectations, varying by location, context time and culture could drive violence in different ways and create lack of trust in authorities and law enforcement.
>When organisations like NATO partner with other countries therefore, it’s important to address discrimination in the security sector and to highlight the importance of responding to the different security needs of women, men, girls, and boys in the population as part of building trust with the civilian population and maintaining a monopoly on the use of force
That page is a bunch of nonsense nu-liberal homosexualspeak, but it doesn't say anything about "assault weapons" or how they're defined.
>using the made up leftist political term assault weapon
I think that is the joke.
Don't be too hard on him, people live with undiagnosed autism every day.
Describe how a sling is a defense weapon.
some church person proposed banning all bows and slings from being used on christians
the crossbow ban gets more press though
tribal elder says can kill wolves and crack rocks how long until used on us
You can use them to hunt. For small to medium game, dried clay projectiles are commonly used. These projectiles pose little threat to the armor used by the valiant enforcers of our honorably elected Great Leader.
However, far right extremists are known to kiln-fire their clay projectiles to make them more dangerous. These literal Nazis also use rocks, glass, and even projectiles made from lead! Impacts from these can give even armored peace and prosperity stormtroopers serious injuries!
I move that not only the sling should be outlawed, but all rocks above a certain size be criminalized, the use of clay regulated, and access to materials like lead strictly controlled.
trigger warning for pic rel
>Cretan slingers would inscribe shit on their projectiles
>at least one is know to have said "ouch"
Thanks for the reminder of this with you picrel anon, gave me a good ol' chuckle
