No. No one owns a Type 64, only rich and therefore somewhat sophisticated people can afford a BAR, no one who has ever owned a MAS 49 has ever been happy (idk why), and there are too few FN 49 owners, let alone shooters to make a judgement about them.

SCARs are millennial guns IMO. I get the meme is zoomers like it because fortnite, but zoomers generally cant afford it and millennials have that strong MW2 nostalgia; which only the very oldest zoomers (age ~26) even remember enough to care about. Millennials have also been in the workforce for minimum 9 years and should have accumulated 3 grand for a SCAR by now, whereas the only zoomers with that kind of disposable income are twitch streamers.

Other than that as I was becoming an actual teen I still liked the SCAR but mostly because of the looks at that point, as well as I guess just momentum from my unfounded assumptions. In hindsight it was most probably all because it looks cool.
However, as far as for actual gun enthusiast zoomers though I'd say you're correct, most social encounters I've had with guys around my age at the range, etc. have been around trying different AR setups and sometimes weird meme guns, like one guy's fricking card gun he brought. But mostly just people's personalized ARs.
