Home defense is holistic. Long gone are the days of keeping a coach gun in the corner of your closet. Cameras, motion lights, improved locks and door jambs, shatter-resistant glass, even just having good neighbors. These things give you advanced warning and can cover your ass. At the end of all that, if it's practical and you can afford it, is a good gun with a good light.
