Is there any actual practical benefit to having your PCC take the same mags as your pistol or is it a meme?
I feel like if I'm ever in a defense situation where I run out of the hundred or so rounds in my PCC mags and I still need to shoot something I'm fricked in the ass anyways from the fricking North Korean army attacking my home or whatever.

You already got your answer. If you already had a pile of hangun mags that could be used in your new poopy cope cuckbine toy, it's nice. Or if it takes readily available and cheap handgun mags, you dont have to spend $50/pop on some gay cz meme mags or whatever. Otherwise, it doesn't matter beyond streamlining the amount of shit you have to haul to the range.

Seems like a meme to me in terms of any practical application. I'm sure it's nice being able to use all the mags you've already got in your PCC, but it's otherwise just LARPshit.

This is why people go overboard on the PCC/handgun LARP. More likely you wake up, grab whatever's closest, go investigate, and fire a shot or two. You're not going to be getting into an enormous gunfight dealing with someone who's most likely just going to run away the moment he realizes he's been found out.

The narrowest use case of a PCC is a moderately disinterested handgun owner who now wants something a little more effective for in-home defense than simply grabbing his CCW piece from the nightstand, which to be fair is not a small demographic - looks like about one third of US gun owners report owning exactly one gun, and the overwhelming majority of those are pistols
