then ask your colleagues to let you try out their hammers
or even better buy one expensive hammer and see if you feel a difference after a few days of using it
if you do it was worth it
if you don't, sell it and you won't be out that much money
I'd say worth at least trying if you use it all the time, especially since it's not 100k or anything truly outrageous
I bought ergonomic mouse for 100USD since I use computer all day long at my job and to me it was worth it. some of my colleagues don't like them. ymmv for most things, so don't blindly trust anyone, just try it
one day you'll meet a guy who's been using a basic hammer for the past 20 years and realize that you really didn't need any of these pretentious brands. you're like a photographer who wants the highest tech shit because in his head it'll make hi ma better photographer.
really, your grandchildren will come to PrepHole too? > look! it's granddad's hammer! > yeah, he has a lot of stuff in here, and we really need the garage.
Kek. This is what’s going to happen with my shit when I die. Thousands and thousands in tools dropped off in one of those clothes recycling bins in the parking lot of Wendy’s.
Those are going to be collector's pieces when everyone is using red tools in the future (chicago electric).

Kek. Bidenomics will get us all using Chicago Electric
Speaking of… I’m surprised picrel isn’t a more popular brand on this board. So many other boards on this website are constantly asking for anons to post their CP collection. Does PrepHole not like Chicago Pneumatic?
They might get a couple worthwhile organs from me. I know my dad saved a couple lives when his drunk ass fell down the stairs and cracked his dome and went braindead for a couple days still they pulled the plug.
Fun fact, my mom refuses to be an organ donor because when she was in her early days, a kid who was in a bad accident came into the ER or OR and he was an organ donor and she was working the case. She says they straight up like desecrated this kid’s body and she doen’t want to be gutted and butchered like a cow when she dies.

go to home depot and feel some hammers out, sometimes Ross has a decent selection for $5-12. I've seen ball peen, framing, demo hammers there as an example
right now home depo has a 20oz hammer with crowbar for $16.xx for their blackfriday shit sale. 16oz seems to be a bit better if you're hammering all day
They have the WORST quality control I have ever seen. Garbage bin brand, asleep at the wheel during manufacturing. Grips coming apart at the store, Hatchets bent or off center while still have tags, coating already chipping in stores, rust visible in stores. Unreal trash.
Boss and Martinez are both made in the USA. A little more expensive, but definitely worth it if you're going to be using it all day every day and you want to actually support US manufacturing instead of just whining online about nothing being made here anymore.
I like wood handles because they absorb a lot of the shock a full metal hammer will transfer back into you. The wood is going to break eventually, but it's easily replaced and you can just reuse the shims.
It's bullshit that a baby 14oz is going to drive all that great because it's titanium. The equation for force doesn't account brand hype. Waffle milled face is only good if all you do is frame, and it's kind of campy if that's the case. The hammer comes out for as many jobs that aren't driving nails. 14 oz just isn't it for bumping materials and demo. Straight claw is great.
unless you're hammering all day for a job or you want reddit to suck your dick, i don't think there is any point spending more than $10 on a hammer.
Ok well what if I am hammering all day because I'm a carpenter?

It's not actually for me, it's for my younger brother. I usually just use an estwing 22oz
buy an estwing and you're grandchildren will never need to buy a hammer in their lifetimes
really, your grandchildren will come to PrepHole too?

nah, imagine the look on someone's face when they find all those unused tools.
And to think my kids didn’t get anything for em
Those are going to be collector's pieces when everyone is using red tools in the future (chicago electric).

hopefully the same with your body

Little Jimmy is not going to share a hammer with little Tommy.

Just realised these are made in China now. Not spending $100 on some chink made shit. Fuck this brand.

i fucking love the wood handled stiletto and think it's fantastic
Worth the money? depends, how rich you are and how often do you use a hammer
The new-ish hultafors claw hammer range is worth checking out, they're really comfortable.
Shit this reminds me I have to epoxy my hammer grip on
what's with the glamour hammers?
