It's illegal if someone can prove that is what you were trying to do, if they can't prove you intended to buy for the purpose of reselling for profit that has nothing to do with your collection then you are okay
It's illegal to try. The whole point of a C&R is to allow firearm collectors to easily enhance their personal collections, not to allow them to do business in firearms.
I wish they had something like this for regular purchases. Like a home FFL where it only allows you to buy guns and have them shipped to your house. But the gAyTF would never allow that
Specifically not a home secuirty system. It's usually window bars, security doors, and motion sensors rigged to a 911 auto dialer which price out most people from being FFLs and that's if you don't live in some gay subdivision with an HOA that just blanket won't let you put bars on your exterior windows.
Oh no, government will make me do perfectly reasonable and prudent things to operate my business.
Oh no, government will make me do perfectly reasonable and prudent things to operate my business.
you're forgetting the part that once you're an FFL the atf can just demand entry to your "business" at any point they want for audits or other bullshit inspections. Having a home FFL means they can demand access to your house. Remember this is an agency that is known for harassing people and breaking the law all the time.

They rarely if ever do a surprise inspection, they come during business hours and will call sometimes months in advance to let you know they will be inspecting on X date, this isn't some action movie where you have to worry about the fed tossing your shit, they make sure that your book is correct and all proper safety and security shit is in place and then you don't worry about it for another fricking year, it's well worth the money you save not renting out commercial space if you have the land for a shop or don't use your garage for shit
These things are not expensive in the least and if that's what is stopping you then you were never going to make it anyway

Not the guy you responded to but you have to be a troll or projecting about living with your folks, bars on windows are less than 100 bucks a window including the braces and bolts along with security systems for monitoring doors and break ins, not to mention if you work out of your garage you don't need to do it to the rest of the house
You have zero idea what you are talking about and are very gay

Seriously, the several hundred of dollars of expense to buy some steel for your windows is what's standing in the way of your dream. That is the insurmountable mountain. That and a few motion detectors that any pothead could intstall....
These anons have never done work on their house (and have likely never owned a house).

An non-C&R FFL is not for your personal enjoyment. If the ATF thinks you're using your FFL solely to enhance your personal collection they will revoke your license and prosecute you.
This and operating an FFL out of your home means you have to allow the ATF to inspect your house during business hours whenever they want at least once annually. You're better off leasing a small space in a strip mall for like $15-20 per square foot if you really want to be an FFL and operate a business.

Yes sure. But what I’m saying is that I don’t want to do any of that crap, I just want guns mailed to my house. I already pass background checks, have conceal carry permit(s), have tax stamps. At what point can I bypass the moronic FFL transfer bullcrap without having to jump through more hoops

>I don't want to be an FFL
every fricking time with you underageb&s
Sick double trips but those fellas are right it's technically easy to get your FFL if you really wanted to. It just isn't a ton of money to be made so you better be sure you really like it as a hobby
Illegal to try, c&r FFL is not for buying and selling for a profit or business unfortunately. You can get a home FFL like an ffl07 or FFL 01 for example but keep in mind you'll be considered operating a business and local laws will vary a lot with zoning and tax filing
A C&R license is suppose to be for your own personal collecting. If you happen to buy a gun, decide you don't want it then happen to sell if for more than you bought it for then that's fine. If that happens multiple times then you should probably calm down with reselling. It's all about intention and if someone can prove your intentions. Selling from your private collection is one thing but purchasing guns purely to resell requires an FFL legally.
Another issue with being a FFL is that some or alot of your collection may require you to remain a FFL to own, so as soon as you lose your license or decide to not to renew, you have to get rid of alot of guns or items fast.
Plenty, any gun over 50 years old so even some Colt sp1s, ar-180s early import fals and hk91s and they have a list of nfa destructive device exempt guns like the tankgewehr or piat launchers that are also c&r and can be shipped to your house
Muskets, as in smoothbore, black powder, muzzle loaded firearms of military origin, do not require a C&R license to ship directly to your door in most states.
Well anything that has a value from its collectability or historical significance rather than being a firearm could be one.
If it's under 50 it has to be in the book that the ATF sends you when you get your 03, if it's over 50 and not otherwise an NFA item then go crazy

made a good list of oddballs but I have a CZ82 in 9 makrov from before I got my C&R that would be g2g under my license but also LOVE my old wheel gats. 3 top breaks and a .32 long S&W all for pretty cheap since I had to fix them.
Then there's other fun stufd like the Hakim rifles and other relics of the early cold war before everybody adopted the FAL and G3.
It would be illegal to try. It shouldn't be but that's a different conversation.

Do you seriously not know how easy it is to become a ktichen FFL? homosexual?
Some states are gay and require secuirty systems and state licensure to be an FFL.
Oh no a home security system and some paperwork! You are clearly too fricking moronic to have anything to do with firearms
Specifically not a home secuirty system. Same.
Or at the very least set it up so that the dealer can run the 4473 and if it checks out, can then ship to your address.
Illegal to try, c&r FFL is not for buying and selling for a profit or business unfortunately. You can get a home FFL like an ffl07 or FFL 01 for example but keep in mind you'll be considered operating a business and local laws will vary a lot with zoning and tax filing
>Is it possible to make a living with a C&R ffl or is it illegal to try
illegal
people in the business of buying and selling guns require an 01 FFL
If you are making a living, then the C&R is the wrong license
A C&R license is suppose to be for your own personal collecting. If you happen to buy a gun, decide you don't want it then happen to sell if for more than you bought it for then that's fine. If that happens multiple times then you should probably calm down with reselling. It's all about intention and if someone can prove your intentions. Are there any cool weapons that count as C&R these days that aren't muskets and shit?
>hey Siri how do I use Google?
Show us what that would look like pertaining to the specifics of that question
Plenty, any gun over 50 years old so even some Colt sp1s, ar-180s early import fals and hk91s and they have a list of nfa destructive device exempt guns like the tankgewehr or piat launchers that are also c&r and can be shipped to your house
>tankgewehr
Now if only any of these could be realistically grabbed without needing to take out a loan
Muskets, as in smoothbore, black powder, muzzle loaded firearms of military origin, do not require a C&R license to ship directly to your door in most states.
Blackpowder guns are not legally considered firearms by the feds.
Well anything that has a value from its collectability or historical significance rather than being a firearm could be one.

Just hop on gunbroker and search "C&R"
