Is having a remote weapon station with autoloader worth it for these howitzer trucks or is it a gimmick that's not worth it?

Who loads the autoloader?
I guess when the magazine is empty it's reloaded manually
Sam Vimes I think.
They would have an loading vehicle behind to put magazines through a vacuum tube. Most likely

the autoloaderloader
Why not armor it at that point then?
Against what?
both of the trucks I posted have armored cabins in the front, and the remote weapon station on the right one is also armored
counter-battery fire
>counter-battery fire
I seriously doubt the Russians are competent enough to do that
underestimating your enemy is always a good way to ensure victory
are you talking about making the howitzer automatic or putting a 7.62 turret on the vehicle?
yes its worth making an autohowitzer they are fast, require smaller crews(this is the big one) and (and this is important to armies even if not so much during wartime) they dont frick up the crew with concussions and hearingbrain damage nearly as much in the long term.
reasons against:
Misfires and jam clearing
Maintenance nightmare
Extremely difficult to make robust enough to operate at extreme high / low temperatures or in dusty / sandy environments
Still need boots on ground to guard it from enemy troops or irregular forces.
You can achieve MRSI with it and frick off before the enemy can strike back
You can perform MRSI just fine with a Caesar
Yes it keeps the crew safe from counter battery fire.
Why are western artis so fricking good
Because we know what matters in a real war and we spend money on it. It just doesn't grab as many headlines as the latest gadgets.
