Nope. I come from a family of golf-pros and spent my whole youth on a course.
It's a facsimile of nature. And left unattended, that landscape will never look natural again after a course goes out of business.

My local muni wastewater irrigated and landscaped with natives. No perfect green carpet here in the desert but great for bird watching and collecting seed. Hot cart girls too

a golf course is tiny in comparison to farm land

        yes but farmland feeds us
a golf course is for hitting tiny rocks with sticks

farms are responsible for the obesity epidemic, we need more golf courses and less corn fields

Bullshit. We need more sustainable hobbies that do not deplete natural resources like golf does for no reason (land and water) and less corn fields.

          >a golf course is for hitting tiny rocks with sticks
as a caveman born in the wrong era there is something cathartic about swinging a club as hard as you can and watching the ball fly off into the distance. When you’re a beginner it sucks ass because you can’t hit the thing but when you git gud it’s ultra satisfying.

Golf is a "sport" that should go extinct, and golf courses should be turned to natural reserves. Those courses are the worst waste of land I can think of.
