Watching TV is wasting time. You aren't doing anything productive, you aren't creating anything.

Just tell whether it's good or mid or bad and frick off

Sitting on PrepHole isn't productive either, moronic Black person. Why are you asking other people if it's good or not. Watch the first episode and decide if you're interested or not, and frick off in the meantime.

You are correct. That's why I just browse for 20 minutes a day Black person.

I browse this place for 8 hours a day during week, because I'm "working" at job then.

I don't come near this place on my free time. I doubt anyone comes. I mean how fricking pathetic you'd have to be to waste your precious free time here?

How do you know I am not at my job homosexual? I browse this between my rounds and clinic , while walking or eating a snack, drinking coffee in the cafeteria. I don't get much free time outside the hospital anyway. That's why I asked if it's even worth wasting 3-4 hours.

                >How do you know I am not at my job homosexual?
But I know you are at job? Because it is physically impossible to be so pathetic at to browse this site on your free time. There's not a single soul so pathetic.

So the implication is clear, you are at job, never claimed otherwise.

Ok my bad. I just get heated from seeing moronic poor patients everyday with their stupid diseases. Just die already and don't waste my time. I don't get paid enough to be your doctor and your counselor and a friend. Frick off. Go to Watson when it becomes popular for your stupid diseases FFS.

They can't even stand a doctor eating his lunch in cafeteria with their judgemental looks. "How can he eat when he has so many patients". It's your fault you contracted the disease , and I am not your slave to be at your bedside 24×7 to get you through it.

Frick this world. I will end my life soon whenever I get the chance to steal the anaesthetics from the OT. Frick those Pajeet nurses with their vial counts and shit. Just let me die already.

Its your fault you took that type of service job, now go wipe your patient's asses, fetch their phones, give them a sponge bath, be their friend, communicate their needs with their doctor, counsel them when needed, do whatever they demand, and frick off for a few hours only to come back and do it all again tomorrow.

I loved it, it's underrated. Might have gotten a bit cringy over time, but well worth the watch.

Annihilation is a good movie though.

It's pretty decent but not amazing, you can watch the whole thing in a single night so hardly a huge time committent, the first episode is the best it gets and if it doesn't grip you there then you can stop it. And probably best do that before someone spoils the one big twist, which is in the first episode.

The premise is really interesting but I don't feel like they justified it very well within the writing, like you just had to accept that they were telling the truth that the universe is deterministic and people had no choice but to play out the scripts, I feel like a clever writer could have made it sound more natural that they were doing so- like that the words they were using would feel like the only obvious thing they could say even if they knew that's what they would say. Even Red Dwarf managed that better in the episode Cassandra, and that's one of the weaker episodes.

It's like any Alex Garland project
    >interesting sci-fi/near future premise
    >slow music that doesn't match the scenes
    >extremely long exposition shots
    >godawful dialogue

Honestly not worth it, only thing by Garland that was good was Ex Machina because he had a cowriter who removed tons of repetitive dialogue that could be shown on screen instead of said by characters.

It was fun, but I think Garland really dropped the ball with the implications of the whole thing:

this whole scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOr9XB5rtJE&ab_channel=adnansorg gave all the correct implications about the machine, but then the whole thing became getting government protecting the good life of main characters in the simulation. But like, the point should have been the fact that making government protect the machine means that you protect your own world, because you are clearly living in a simulation too, so to ensure the survival of your own universe, you have to make the protecting the machine in your simulation a sacred duty. So that people will protect your machine too in upper universe. And so on and so on. Creating a God machine means creating your own God. The machine becomes sacred because your survival depends on it that EVERY simulation starts thinking it sacred. If some universe in meta levels decides to turn off the machine, ALL universes will cease to exist, including the universe of the series. But for some strange reason they made it about ensuring main characters to have a fine life. Makes absolutely no sense.

Sonoya's fake accent is annoying though I don't know why they didn't keep her British accent like in Maniac, it was so cute.

I normally like this kind of thing, but I couldn't make it through the whole first season. The main chick got on my nerves, I kept wanting her asian ex to shove her off the fricking balcony when she'd show up, typical women shit to try to force an ex to do something nice for you after basically fricking off on them, and to help her find the guy she left him for too. Infuriating, wish the asian wasn't such a fricking simp.
And once the reveal of what the special computer does came, the whole "sinister" theme they put on absolutely everything about that guy and his company just came off cheesy from there on out. Down to the music, it's like something you'd expect in some super edgelord gore film, just overkill.

It's well done, and a lot of the acting is solid (main girl is iffy)

But the writing really doesn't hold up, and it falls apart if you give it more than a few seconds of thought

It's not complete garbage, but definitely not essential watching

I enjoyed the series well enough until the very end when, for a sci-fi show it tossed all science and logic out the window. they are using a quantum computer for timeline-diving, a computer where its quantum effects are inherently tied to the many-worlds hypothesis, then try to use that quantum computer to prove many-worlds is false. oh, and out of nowhere revealing that same computer happens to also be a matrix machine. i'm nowhere near "a wizard did it" stickler but when doing a sci-fi show the science should be at least *somewhat* internally consistent, otherwise just make it a fantasy setting and replace the computer with a genie.

What wrecked the last episode for me was his daughter was young again when if time had progressed the right way she'd have been a teenager.

      Anonymous

      >happens to be a matrix machine
It's because the computer is simulating the timeline and they have a scanner which the computer can use to derive the rest of the universe. Thus, you can scan people, move their virtual atoms into a non-fated scenario, and generate a matrix scenario. You know, basic computer stuff

Devs is the worst kind of entertainment - a story about smart people written by and for dumb people. It insists on itself. Flat acting, samey design, unearned emotions and all the scientific and philosophical insight that are to be expected from present day scifi - none whatsoever. A nothing show and a waste of time. If you like it you are a midwit

Ex Machina - decent but overrated
Annihilation - hated with a passion
    Men - weird but OK
Devs - Up there with Young Pope and Leftovers as one of my favorite limited series of all time.

You should not watch this show, especially if you're familar with Garland's work and ipso facto have reservations. It's full of filler, doesn't explore the central concept with any depth or originality, and the lead actress is nails-on-chalkboard awful.
It's shot well enough as with his other works, and the corporate fixer guy is a stand-out performance, but definitely not worth your time.
