Interview with Switchblade 300 operator

Since the arrival of SB300 we really didn't see too much of their usage to judge it's effectiveness properly and the common impression seems to be it's too expensive and less effective compared to other kamikadze drones or FPV's. So it's interesting to finally read details of their usage, seems like it's doing pretty well in it's specific niche:

I’m concerned that they’re being pocketed by someone. A previous excuse I read about them being too difficult to use is probably BS. Better to hang on to them in a private warehouse somewhere to flip for $50k a pop and continue to use Chinese quadcopters.

They literally disprove this in the article, it's easier to use then average FPV-drone. There is just not a lot of them delivered and they used by special units like SBU,GRU and SSO.

        >they used by special units like SBU,GRU and SSO.
The only confirmed use we have is that security camera footage of one ACKing an FSB guy whose buddies abandon him. The only one who tries to help is a stray dog.

Sigh. Obviously not now, they’re going to wait until the war is over when it’s not a death-sentence. If anyone notices these things sitting in a warehouse the general can pass it off as "saving them a defense of Kiev" and lack of documents an oversight in the chaos etc. Stop assigning Western standards to these people.

good article. seems like they like the device and it performs pretty well, there's just not enough of them to go around, unlike the FPV drones. was interesting to read that their biggest gripe is with the launch mechanism, not the drone itself

I would also want know about 600 version, there should be at least small number of them already delivered and we did have at least one video of it's use against TOR AA successfully

weapon evolution is happening during the war.

obviously if Ukraine knew that FPV drones would be so effective and cheap, they would've had a million of them waiting to go when Russia first invaded.

      >Taking into account active means of electronic warfare, the drones operate in a stable manner.
IOW, the early-war spam about EW wrecking S300s was an insecure vatnik.
