I would cut a man literally in half if it meant Toyota would bring this exact fricking thing with a manual and a diesel to the US.
It hurts me on the inside and on the outside that we cannot have these.

Cars and trucks aren't sufficient vehicles for SHTF.
Any person with sufficient forethought knows this.
Tacomas are reliable trucks in stable civilization, that's it

my friend bought a SHTF horse but that thing looks like a pain in the ass hes always having to file its hooves and buy hay and shit

At that point just have a fricking bicycle, Good chance the horse is going to die before its owner, and if it ever breaks a leg, its nothing more than meat at that point. Might as well just buy a decent bike, parts for it, and use all of the money spent taking care of the horse towards other shit.

the worst part is the horse isnt really broken to where he could ride it. he got a horse trailer in the deal with the horse and he gave it to this Black person cowboy guy who was supposed to train the horse in return but the Black person took the trailer to an auction in town and sold it and never came back or answered the phone kek

Why didn't he burn his barn down with a posse of racists and kill his animals?

This. For it to work you would need more than one horse as well. In times where someone would have travelled by horse he would have several most likely. The idea of a lonely rider is a bit of a trope.

Declaring certain vehicles to be or not be technicals is missing the entire point of the concept. If you strap a gun to a Tacoma, it's a technical.

"The technical gets its name from a euphemism back in the days of the Somalia relief rort.

Media crews, NGOs and other civilian types had to pay for the security services provided by local warlords. Little more than a bare-faced protection racket, the fees for these mercenary services were often noted down as “technical assistance”."

Why do trucks all have gigantic cabs and tiny beds now? I can't just find a reasonably priced 2 seater with a bed in the back so I can haul stuff. SUV's are all 8 seat passenger vehicles with no trunk space. It's like everyone designs vehicles for soccer moms and nimrods that need a big vehicle to conceal the fact they can't drive and do stupid shit like match speed with the opposite lane when in the passing lane.

      Anonymous

Can't cab and bed sizes be customized?

        Anonymous

To the extent there is a frame that accommodates it, yes. Eight-foot beds are becoming hard to find in the light duty models though. Anon is shopping in the used market and probably not looking at fleet trucks even though that would be the easiest place to find a long-bed regular cab.

Why not just get a Ford Transit so you can haul stuff?

        Anonymous

I'm looking for a used truck, not a thing I should spray paint free candy on. Cargovans seem kinda nice till you start looking at them and then they're 200+k miles and they hit their end of life warrenty and are going to have endless problems. I'm not trying to turn it into a gypsy camper in my parents lawn that can move seasonally. I'd like to move materials between places.

          Anonymous

          >I'd like to move materials between places.
I think all the other reasons you gave for why you don't want a Ford Transit are valid, but I don't think this reason is. Tons of people use Ford Transits to haul shit. The only time a Ford Transit wouldn't be practicial for hauling materials is if whatever you're transporting is taller than the van, or longer than the van bed.

            >well pennies on the dollar is the best I can do it's a ford by the time I get done repairing it I probably owe money

Not a Fords salesman. I'd be pissed after those interactions too. I was just legitimately asking what's wrong with a Ford Transit because around where I live I see people using those more to haul shit than trucks.

He ended up settling a lawsuit against the used car dealer he sold it. He was asking for $1 million, the amount it was settled for is undisclosed

The shit he had to go through after that was probably worth the mil, I hope they gave it to him.
It tarnished his business for years, if not permanently.

I wonder how many miles that truck had on it. I live in a rural area where people have to commute a lot to work so the vehicles have a lot of highway miles and mexicans come to the car auctions here and buy up all the tacomas and shit with 350k+ miles and ship them to mexico
