>In 2018, a movie-publicity company called Bunker 15 took on a new project: Ophelia, a feminist retelling of Hamlet starring Daisy Ridley. Critics who had seen early screenings had published 13 reviews, seven of them negative, which translated to a score of 46 percent on the all-important aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes — a disappointing outcome for a film with prestige aspirations and no domestic distributor.
>But just because the “Tomatometer” says a title is “rotten” — scoring below 60 percent — it doesn’t need to stay that way. Bunker 15 went to work. While most film-PR companies aim to get the attention of critics from top publications, Bunker 15 takes a more bottom-up approach, recruiting obscure, often self-published critics who are nevertheless part of the pool tracked by Rotten Tomatoes. In another break from standard practice, several critics say, Bunker 15 pays them $50 or more for each review. (These payments are not typically disclosed, and Rotten Tomatoes says it prohibits “reviewing based on a financial incentive.”)

>a feminist retelling of Hamlet
And you're telling me critics DIDN'T like this??
Its 46 with the 45 point leftist drivel bonus.
>whiteness
Not even joking, Shakespeare has totally fallen out of vogue, and all the new good stories are by and about gay fat ugly morons.
>all the new good stories are by and about gay fat ugly morons.
...in space!
I'm shocked, shocked! Well, not that shocked.
$50. Cheap asses
What a surprise, didn't see that one coming.
the only sad thing here is the idea someone didn't know this.
Whats the problem? Its a free market, they are free to buy critics. The world revolves around money, only a retard would believe critics don't have financial interests
It's usually free trips to junkets in nice locations where the critics interview the actors so they're getting free vacations
>It's not true! Unless it is. And if it is, it's not a problem. And if it's a problem, it's your fault!
Very cool.
who are you quoting?
you and the moron you rode in on
You need a fews story to tell you this? Rotten tomato scores never made any sense.
>Rotten tomato scores never made any sense
they make absolute perfect sense for every movie except mcu ones. Just because critics liked a movie you didn't, doesn't make them shills
Yes it does.
>Bunker 15 pays them $50 or more for each review.
>$50
So this is the price for dignity of current year """critics""".
there is no dignity in capitalism. you're always whoring yourself unless you've got scores of people whoring themselves for you.
My country used to be communist. We only regained dignity after it fell and we became capitalists.
and we tell strippers that stripping is empowering, and prostitutes that sex work is real work
And communist tell each other in themselves that "it will totally work THIS time".
okay, bulgarian retard
Nice projection there, fag.
You need to be over 18 to post here.
Yes, garden gnome, the problem with your diseased breed of subhumans is that we're not supporting the bigger scam you're pushing.
It's interesting hearing the details but anyone who is shocked that there are paid reviews are stupid. Amazon, Yelp, RT, they all have payed reviews, some of them very obvious. That's why whenever I buy something new off of amazon it takes me forever because I read as many reviews and search other sites for info on all brands od the same type of product.
>depressing stuff
it's a fucking website that influences only people who are retarded and can't think for themselves, nobody gives a fuck, there are far more depressing things in the world than this
>that influences only people who are retarded and can't think for themselves
That’s 90% of the US population.
You're brown.
Rotten Tomatoes is popular and is used the world over, you obsessed fag.
And Americans are the most obsessed over it. Fact.
>get exposed lying
>"Wh-...Wh-Who Cares!?!?..."
Kek, classic.
oh no i can't believe it anyway
Why did you post a pic of a toddlers serving?
hello bob, $50 is $50 right?
id say thats a meagre amount of food for a tiny person?
Doesn't seem like that much food to me.
Why'd you post an average-sized serving of McDonald's?
We know.
Based Vulture. I find several good movie suggestions there (I discovered The Innocents 1961 due to Vulture very recently, I am ashamed to admit) and they assraped Cowboy Bebop from netflix when it came out.
Was this scene in the movie really needed?

Gaming media is even more obvious. The media there are all extreme shills and lash out at any criticism.
>only $50
>doesn’t even try and bargain for $100
>50$
call me a shill sjw woke gay garden gnome but that don't make no goddamn sense
>call me a shill sjw woke gay garden gnome but that don't make no goddamn sense
Shitty click bait author. Hint they are NOT only writing one shitty shill article. They're getting paid by EVERYONE. 50 here, 50 there, 50 there, it adds up. They might make only 20K a year and just barely survive, but it's a living.
Thank God, now they can stop being business decisions on RT Scores
So this must be the Russian gamergate altright Maga review bomb crowd I heard so much about....
>Wow. I did not know that. You're telling me now for the first time
Wow, really depressing stuff. I need antidepressants after reading this.
The death of cinema in real time
50 bucks? That's it? Damn.
Right? Can't even earn a decent wage being a shill anymore.
I know! That's why I eat my lunch and dinner at Arby's™. Did you know they have a 2 for $7 Everyday Value available for delivery or pick up? I can mix and match my favorites like their Classic Beef 'N Cheddar, Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and 6 pc. Mozzarella Sticks and have them delivered right to my doorstep! That's why I choose Arby's™.
>Bunker 15 pays them $50 or more
imagine selling out the entirety of cinema for $50
This is why Metacritic is superior in every single way. It only includes the reputable sources
>50 dollars
why didn’t they ask for more if they were going to lie?
I think they took down the Ophelia RT page. I can't find it. Probably to protect the identities of the shills.
Found it on wayback though

Kek. FOUR "critics" from AWFJ dot org alone! And a few others marked by RT as "top critics", likely based on numbers of reviews they crank out.
if you didn't already know this there's really nothing else to be said
The corruption is everywhere. Even here.
This all stems from RT loosening their criteria for critics in the first place because not enough professional critics were black.
Why is Vulture reporting on this? That's the only sus thing here.
>they only paid their critic $25
ahhh ok then that makes sense.
