I'm working on buying my own 550 in the future. Swiss made.
Is there a better assault rifle though? Do you like precision that also works in a AK way once it has been suspended in a lot of dirt?

What
hwhat
It's probably one of the best especially if you are in similar environments to the Swiss Alps.
Sako and Galil exist if you want more of an AK and there is a lot of good rifles from HK and FN as well.
>if you are in similar environments to the Swiss Alps
or icy russia
i hate the department of defense and their ar15 buttplugs, they're so fricking stupid
Is it really a Swiss AK?
people say
Kinda. The recoil mechanism is completely different though, and it has adjustable gas.
>swiss ak
so all piston guns are "insert nationality here" AK?
might as well call an AK the Russian STG44.
the original SG510 is closer to an STG than an AK and it was clearly developed without even looking at an AK.
homie of course it's a Swiss ak, it's not just a piston gun it's conceptually the same with a few changes here and there
I have a military issued one and I'd get rid of it if I could
Yeah, but you sound like some kind of moron...do you not?
I don't care but all rifles should be made with integrated bipods. It's as essential as a sling or flashlight. Oh and carry handles too.
only belt fed rifles should have carry handles
>Do you like precision that also works in a AK way once it has been suspended in a lot of dirt?
are you a coffee drinker?
>are you a coffee drinker?
sure.
stay out of the dirt
>stay out of the dirt
Why?
>Is there a better assault rifle though?
It depends on your assaulting needs, what exactly are you planning to assault?
>Do you like precision that also works in a AK way once it has been suspended in a lot of dirt?
What the frick kind of moronation did I just read?
the 550 is a meme gun that's now completely obsolete, sheet metal receiver and long stroke gas piston, it's heavy, the recoil spring in the gas tube is a stupid idea that required some very clever metallurgy and engineering, unless you get one of the original Swiss army issued stgw90, it will have a pretty short lifespan. the stuff that SIG sauer AG outputs these days is a pale copy of the ones that were made in the 90's.
I do have a Swiss Arms one, but the fact that I can't put a light on it more or less puts it in the same category as my Colt A2. It's a cool novelty, but like you said, obsolete
the Swiss army is now issuing laser aiming devices, can't remember the exact model now but it comes with a set of plastic handguards equipped with pic rails..... I repeat, a laser aiming device mounted on a wobbly plastic handguard
I know this sounds crazy, but you can drill two holes for a Surefire body in the handguard and bolt it directly on.
Black person I'm not going to start drilling holes in my Swiss SG550. What the frick.
Throw a good rail system on it and it's no longer obsolete by modern standards.
just get an AR. the SG 550 is great to hand out to conscripts by the thousands, but for your personal rifle an AR has several benefits.
do they make a version with free floated barrel ?
For the price of a SG-550 any modern military can purchase a crate of AR-15s with similar features that weigh less and are easier to find parts for.
