I'm thinking of painting my living room walls eggshell white. Is eggshell good for the living room or what do you guys recommend? Never done this.

Ask them to add a shot of black. Let them know you are a pro.

To give some actual advice, eggshell is a good general sheen for interior walls/ceilings. I typically wouldn't go any lower for walls as most products that have low sheen are porous which makes them harder/impossible to clean and hold on to moisture. White is a very popular but in my humble opinion a very bland and overdone color currently. Many "pure white" colors also have piss poor blocking/covering ability. If the surface is a bright or dark color prepare for at least 3 coats.

      Thanks guys

you dont need more than 2 coats if you use actual primer and dont rely on the shit primer that comes in the paint can already
of course that means you're still painting it 3 times but primer is cheaper than paint and you'll get a better result from the better performing primer

        >if you use actual primer
If interior walls are already painted with latex and aren't water stained or some other shit:

YOU DON'T EVER NEED TO PRIME
YOU DON'T EVER NEED TO PRIME
YOU DON'T EVER NEED TO PRIME
YOU DON'T EVER NEED TO PRIME

jesus christ this "prime everything" is bullshit. I've painted over 1000 interior rooms and I don't think I've ever primed anything except water stains and old oil paint to change to latex. Two coats of any decent paint will cover almost anything unless the new color is extreme like bright red or purple.

I'm out. argue all you like, and prime once, prime twice, prime three fricking coats if you think you need to.

          Speaking of primer…

Wtf is the difference between KILZ 1, 2, 3, etc?

Last time I went with the green one because I was covering a stained spot from a leak, but I’m wondering wtf I use for general drywall and maybe like exterior concrete if I need to patch a hole and paint it.

pva is $40 for a five gallon. That's your general drywall water based primer. Kilz better oil based primers are for sticking any paint to anything and they cost accordingly.

3 to cover dark colors and stains, 2 for fast drying medium duty

Use greige color. More comfy. Edgecomb Gray from Benjamin Moore is the best greige.

You obviously need chameleon paint to give the illusion of depth to your living space you dumb homosexual. Have you never painted a proper interior before?

Finger/hand prints will be much more visible, even though it's not a pure matte finish. You'll either have to clean the walls frequently or avoid touching them and never have kids.
