I'm looking for a good bed-side/nightstand gun that's smaller and easier to maneuver than my full sized shotguns and rifles. What does PrepHole think of the shockwaves? Also, good packing gun?

It's going to be louder and slower to get into the fight than a regular 9mm. It's also like what, 5+1? 6 shots feel like enough to you?
>slower to get into the fight than a regular 9mm.
The fuck is this retard saying? Did you know a Single Shell of 12gauge has 8 9mm ball sized pellets? You think it's 6 shots but it's actually 48 9mm shots. Nogunz as FUCK.
Get the Remington semiautomatic shotgun like this.
00 buck is like shooting 9 .32 ACP at once.
>00 buck is like shooting 9 .32 ACP at once.
It's a lot more devastating than 9mm. 9mm handguns have capacity, but you need to land 4+ well placed shots and I've seen videos of people surviving that much. Any shot landed with a shotgun will immediately stop a person. On their arms, legs, belly, chest or head.
Can't be attacked if you remove their arms. Can't get away if you remove their legs.
>Shotgun CHAD vs the AR zoomer
>It's a lot more devastating than 9mm.
I never said it wasn't. My point was the only way it would be worse than 9mm is if only one or fewer of those 9 pellets hit.
>HE SHOT MUH ARM OFF
>HE SHOT MUH ARM OFF
This shit was music to my ears
PRAY!
Holy shit. I just looked on gun.deals for it, the Remington V3 Tac13, and it used to be available for $600 and now the only in-stock link they have for it is the grifters at guns.com for fucking $1,700.
Remington went out of business, which means all their stuff has gone up in price, but let me tell you it's not worth it. Remington made shit products when they got bought out.
Beneli M4 > Beretta 1301 > Mossberg 940 > Beretta A3
If you can't afford those semi autos, get a pump action... long as it isn't turkish.
Forgot about Remington being kaput. Palmetto State bought their ammo subsidiary though, right?
>Forgot about Remington being kaput.
Nah, Remington is done. Remington broke onto two sections. Remington Group which makes the ammo. PSA bought Remington brand and design rights for their firearms. Essentially, Remington is dead, it's just a name now.
So is my silver spoon wingmaster a collectible now?
Those jumped in price when the panic buying started but never came down and got worse. I bought my used 870P SBS for $400 + stamp.
Based, exactly why I bought a cheap SBS because an AOW with peace adapter etc would cost price or more by the time you make it useable (+ guaranteed future brace ATF BS).
Mine is 5+1, so cruiser ready with 5 in the toob, the sec I rack it I’m topping off from tbe side saddle or the 2 shot card on the stock, total 12 rounds of 00/slugs handy. You should train to always top off with a shotgun.
*Brace and adapter, not peace adapter
>more than enough to kill anything that moves
based revolver ocelot revolver ocelot (revolver ocelot) revolver ocelot
>It's also like what, 5+1? 6 shots feel like enough to you?
You can get it up to 7+1 or 8+1 if you're using minishells, which I think most people would agree are still good for HD. Unless you're swimming I don't think you can ever have "too much" ammo, but assuming its a single intruder I can't imagine anyone who wasn't hit would be sticking around after six loads of buckshot were sent flying through the air. It's a decision everyone has to make for themselves, but I wouldn't judge anyone for going either way.
revolver ocelot (revolver ocelot)
Its a shotgun, it really isnt the same thing as a 9mm.
lever action rifle, not a shotgun though.
>Any shot landed with a shotgun will immediately stop a person. On their arms, legs, belly, chest or head.
this simply isnt true. shotguns arent magic. People taking more than one load is hardly unheard of.
One of the ideal guns for that very specific scenario of home defense at hallway distances and literally nothing else. Stick a flashlight with a concentrated beam on there or something with a laser and don't even bother with the sights and practice hip-firing and point shooting
>Also, good packing gun?
You fucking zoomers and your fucking foldy "backpack" guns for getting your city cucked ass out the door without scaring your neighbors so you can drive 3 hours into the suburbs to hike through 4 acres of woods with an inaccessible poverty blaster or go camping 300 feet from a highway. Picrel is a "packing" gun. If a vehicle is in any way involved in getting you from your parents basement to wherever you'll be sleeping in a damp tarp and cooking ramen with milsurp crap, the whole concept becomes even more fucking retarded.
OP has an idea for a back packing gun. Larping. You have your idea for a back packing gun. Hunting. When I think back packing gun, I think camping and hiking for days. A handgun is my back packing gun.
>A handgun is my back packing gun.
This is also acceptable. If OP needs something as compact as a shockwave but actually useful beyond 10 yards, Keltec has all the bullpup and folding poorfag guns that take muh glawk and ay-arr mags for the complete dumb larping zoomer set, and they'll get used exactly as often against skinwalkers or whatever retarded fantasy OP has refused to grow up out of while dodging white women walking dogs through the one patch of forest between population centers that he can larp in
>What does PrepHole think of the shockwaves?
The absence of a stock impacts accuracy too much for me to consider it a good HD weapon. They're usable, sure - a buddy of mine has one that we've taken skeet shooting and it wasn't terrible - but when leads going both ways a missed shot could be the difference between life and death. On the other hand, HD shootings tend to occur at pretty close range so maybe you could get away with it.
Can you fit a wrist brace to them?
My rec is a bullpup. I count on my AUG for HD and I can't think of anything I'd prefer.
>16" barrel in a 28" gun
>An actual stock
>Rear-biased center of gravity makes it relatively easy to use one-handed if your other hand is injured or holding a phone
>5.56 out of a 16" barrel might save your life on the off-chance your home invaders are wearing soft armor, say if they're cops who got the address on their warrant mixed up
>42 round magazine my dude
Bullpup rifles are the hard to swallow pill for all sides of the home defense fetish. A home defense gun should be:
>short
>powerful
>high capacity
Pistols win in being short and high capacity, shotguns win in being powerful. Without making retarded decisions to turn your shotgun into a low capacity pistol and getting the worst of all worlds, the most effective way to meet all requirements is a short rifle, and the most effective version of that is a bullpup. A better solution is to take that 1k you'd spend on fantasy guns and accessories and ammo, and build a quality door frame and reinforce your home's entry points. Buying a home defense gun and having a cardboard front door is like spending thousands on a gun and kit and never taking a first aid class
AUGs are more like 2.5k before accessories
A shockwave is around 600 MSRP before regret
I paid like $400 for mine before transfer a couple months ago.
A Mossberg Cruiser, Shockwave Technologies bird's head grip, and a throwaway Harbor Freight hacksaw would have only been like $250 though, and would have given me a roughly Identical experience for the cost of a few hours of repetitive motion.
I have a piece of shit decades old mossberg with a fuckhuge long barrel, I'm thinking of cutting it down, chopping the stock, gluing an adapter into it and making it a dedicated mini shell gun.
Actually, is this illegal? Can you make a normal shotgun into the legal loophole area that a shockwave is, or does it have to start out like that?
iirc once manufactured as a shotgun it will always legally be a shotgun so cutting it down would be iweegal but it's 2023 so nobody cares what the atf has to say anymore
additionally I've heard the ATF is intentionally not prosecuting NFA shit so as to not leave it open to challenge under bruen
I agree and think the aug is based, just saying if he's a stupid poorfag considering the shockwave I doubt he can go up to an aug
no. they go for 1600 regularly online
get a dog a cell phone and a baseball bat
> What does PrepHole think of the shockwaves?
I have a Shockwave. It's fun as shit to shoot, super maneuverable, and all around cool.
I do not recommend it as a home defense gun. It is difficult to impossible to get any sort of accuracy from it due to it being designed to be fired from the hip. You can get a laser and do a FUCKLOAD of training to mitigate this, but you would still be better off with a shotgun that had a stock that you can shoulder. Firing the Shockwave from a high position is doable, but there is so much recoil that it takes for-fucking-ever to get back on target.
The absolute best HD shotgun I can think of would be a Shockwave with a stock and minishells, but that's getting into SBS territory and if you ever have to shoot at an intruder you'll probably be getting raped hard enough by gay leftist DAs as it is, so you have to decide if its worth risking getting an NFA violation stacked on top of that or even paying the cuck tax. You might be better off spending the $200 for a cruiser and throwing a stock on it if your other shotguns are too long to clear your house with. If you do get a Shockwave, get the Nightstick version. I panic bought mine to get ahead of some anticipated legislation and in retrospect wish I would have shelled out more for the wood furniture. I'm thinking about getting a set from Ebay, but they're like $120-$150 a set, and I'd rather spend that on ammo.
> Also, good packing gun?
Like backpacking? It wouldn't be bad, you can even get a scabbard if you want to be that guy. Honestly though a high capacity 9mm pistol and an extra mag or three is going to be a better option, unless you have bears in your area. A Shockwave is only around 5lbs (empty), but when you're hiking all day you're gonna feel every ounce.
>A Shockwave is only around 5lbs (empty), but when you're hiking all day you're gonna feel every ounce.
I've never understood this meme, I hiked 52 miles with a maverick 88 and no sling just by switch which hand has it over my shoulder.
>I hiked 52 miles with a maverick 88 and no sling just by switch which hand has it over my shoulder.
You probably would have been able to hike 82 miles if you had less weight.
>You should train to always top off with a shotgun.
This is absolutely true, but another thing that is absolutely true is that when you're woken up out of a deep sleep at 2 in the morning and have to jump up and grab your shotgun and start shooting at an intruder and your body dumps a fuckload of adrenaline into your system and you're relying on gross motor skills it may not be as easy to reload shells as it is when you're in a controlled environment at the range.
When it comes to defensive gun use I feel like any ammo not in the gun when you pick it up should not be counted on.
That’s absolutely true and one reason I have these dummy rounds to practice with. Most people don’t take the time to learn to index their rounds when loading or do so one handed while keeping the shotgun shouldered. That’s where the topping off loses the value if you’re not able to do while shooting or covering the threat. I get not counting on unloaded ammo and that’s one reason I have the aluminum Mesa sidesaddle instead of Velcro. tbh, if I used one my AR’s for HD( it would prob be my 8” 9mm.
>firing from the hip
Just learn how to shoot it right you retard
This boomer doesn’t seem to think it’s “impossible” to get accurate shots off
> Just hold a gun without a stock in a super awkward way in an attempt to replicate what it would be like to use a gun with a stock
> Do all of this instead of just buying a gun with a stock
Do me a favor and have a nice day
I'm from Idaho, and ruby ridge specials are our state firearm
Wiser to keep your guns locked up to prevent accidents
Leaving guns unsecured in the open fully loaded is asking for accidents and tragedy
I have defended my home with only a machete and once with a hammer, and I think it's important to practice proper gun safety
you could do that, but the final destination is SBS masterrace
