How is it that we should act in the world? Is it determined by our emotions? Our value structures? Our beliefs? Or is it something we're groomed into by our society or our family. Or, maybe it's the simple economics of survival that decide how we should act so we can always keep our bellies full.

What do you think it is that is at the reins of your horse?

The USMC has the lowest floor for ASVAB scores. If that doesn't scream "filled with barely literate morons", I don't know what will. Even their pilots suck. Look at all the CV-22 crashes broken down by branch. They should have been absorbed into the Navy a long time ago, but have survived off being flashy with their fancy uniforms and drill performances despite offering very little actual value.

Anon, I agree with you and the fren you're responding to, but come on that is hardly fair; the marines were a little busy on the other side of the world during WW2, kicking Jap ass.

I fantasize about being a soldier a lot but at the end of the day I value my own life infinitely more than my own grandiose fantasies of "honor and glory".
