I'm buying a pistol chambered in 5.7x28mm. Help me pick which one

>FN
>Ruger
>S&W
>PSA
Those are my manufacturer choices from most expensive to least expensive. I'm leaning towards the FN, tell me why I am dumb and should by the PSA model for 600 burger bucks.

It's kinda cool in the P90, and if it had been standardized earlier, adopted and then gotten cheap might have been ok for PCCs. Even now if you get a chance to shoot a P90 on the range it's worth an outing, even though you then have to realize you chewed through a lot of money very easily. SMGs though are a dying niche, and 5.7 has ended up literally more expensive then 300bo which squashes it even out an 8" barrel.

And yes for handguns it was always shit and still is. I don't want to step on OP's dreams though, maybe he has a P90 already and an absolute shitload of 5.7 and wants to standardize or something.

Does a Kel Tec P50 count?

          >Does a Kel Tec P50 count?
Why would you need another pistol though in that case? Just open carry the P50 in a shoulder holster.

Then what do I do with my R50?

Get knee high leather boots with an integrated leather holster on the outside of each one and carry two there.

5.7 is a shitty meme round.

This, 5.7 was made for the p90 to arm support troops like the M1 carbine but tooled for armor penetration because Russian paratroopers would have body armor. Against any target not wearing body armor 5.7 is dumb and 5.7 pistols only exist because the military likes standardization.

And the 5.7 was a failure even at that program, hence why it was scrapped.

why do people who not own a gun that shoots a certain round have an opinion on that round?

The smith and wesson model achieves the highest velocity due to its sealed rotating barrel, so obviously buy the S&W 57

Oh man, 1600.75 FPS rather than 1600 FPS.

Imagine getting only 1600 fps from a 40gr bullet. Just as good as 5.56, they say. KEK.

Out of a 10" it's ~2400 IIRC, but a 10" AR will throw 62gr faster than that, still pretty moronic.

If you can afford any get the FN because it's well made but more so because 5.7 is moronic out of short little barrel and at least the FN will go with a p90 should you ever get one.

Conversely get the Ruger because because they also make a carbine that takes the same magazines, which is always cool.

The S&W is the best one, 5.7 a shit though. It will never be a duty round because it lacks enough mass to not severely deflect through vehicle barriers, and doesn't even penetrate past 12" in gel without a barrier.

I guess, since 5.7 from ft hood had a higher wound to kill ratio than 9mm at Virginia tech.

The only experience I can give is with the Ruger. I would NOT recommend it. My buddy bought one and within 20 rounds the trigger went dead. We could see the trigger spring slipped so put it back. Worked for another few rounds and then slipped again.

Sent it to Ruger and they sent it back saying spring was replaced. New spring slipped within a single mag. He put it back and it has worked for a few mags but he doesnt trust it at all. Expensive ammo so he doesnt shoot it much, either.

We did some searching at the time and couldnt find other reports of the issue so his may just be a fluke.

the only thing ive read about is extractor issues and i have no idea what spring your talking about there is no 'trigger spring'
