kek this isn't even that much if you've been a dedicated collector for most of your adult life. Let's say you buy yourself a new gun on your birthday and Christmas every year, you started when you were 20, and you never sold any. You'd have 40 guns in your collection by the time you're 40 years old. I didn't count every gun in the pic, but the guy looks older than 40. Most of his guns look like ARs, pump shotguns, and glonks which aren't all that expensive for basic models anyway (although he does have some pricier guns like the Tigr and SL8). It seems like a lot, but the average household that has 2-3 financed cars probably spent more money than he did on a bunch of guns that were mostly in the ballpark of $500-$1k.
This pic causes so much seethe on Reddit every time it’s posted. They see this boomers guns and they start writing fan fiction about how hate-filled he is and how he wants to genocide bipoc.

Yeah, it helps to balance the rifles center of gravity. Also helps tame recoil, as slight as it may be in a 20" 5.56
https://www.everydaymarksman.co/equipment/rifle-weight-and-balance/
National Match rifles are insane. 16-20lb loaded, absolutely zero POA shift, always shot with traditional marksmanship techniques and leather slings. They put tiny little groups on paper at 600y with 62gr, even farther with 77gr. It's a tool that distills your shooting completely down to your technique.
I'm genuinely surprised more guys on /k/ aren't into NM, if you have a handier cool guy NV/Suppressed AR you might as well go to the opposite end of the spectrum and build an obscenely heavy NM to bench/sit/prone shoot. Mk12s and SPRs are cope tier half measures

Gun minimalism is:
>1 long gun
>1 handgun
And for this my answer is: a Mossberg 500 in 12ga with a 3.5" chamber & a 28" barrel, and some .357mag 6-shot revolver with a 3" or 4" barrel; probably a GP100

>Idk man I have five ARs with 14.5" barrels in 5.56 and I'm thinking of buying at least two more. Seems pretty minimalist.
He's just some salty war tourist from r/transgunowners.
I've got 20 something guns around my house so cutting it down to 9 is plenty minimalist.
For me the main thing I'd be losing out on with OPs minimalist categories is my milsurp and fun guns (Calico, ppk etc)
I meant a minimalist collection, not necessarily something composed entirely of practical applications. I have limited safe space after moving and I want to see what people would keep if they were limited to the aforementioned criteria.
>Think before you post, please.
Get fricked homosexual.
The tenets of minimalism are incongruent with the reality of any sort of "collection" of material things

I would just take my USP and Makarov. If I had to get a third idk, probably my M1917 revolver because its cool.
It depends on the role. If I were a militiapersonpeoplekind I would have an ar15 ideally, otherwise the situation means I will use anything so long as I can swap it out with something I can better trust my life with.
If I am a hunter than I probably want a shotgun in 12 gauge, low power for small game, slugs and buckshot for bigger game. This works for self defense too. The only downside being is that you don't need to shoot 12 guage for all aniimals, too expensive. but it works
