you literally need a huge plane to be able to drop that
so..... a plane has to actually fly over the target in ukraine and drop it
    yeah good luck

Ukraine is running out of Its S-300 and BUK which composed the bulk of Its IADS whilst they haven't received enough western SAMs to replace them. So we might soon start seeing the larger Russian bombers start entering Ukrainian airspace

        In about a fortnight?

meh, as soon as there is signs of russia actually trying something with bombers, the west will reveal that it has been training ukrainian fighter pilots for years now and the planes are ready to go

Meh, given the leaks were montgs old and even by declared gear Ukies have way more AA now, pretty sure that's already solved even without planes.

Okay. So give it a try then
        See what happens

Me too. Because that means the Russian Air Force somehow grows balls and dared to send a Tu-160 on top of an Ukrainian target instead of slinging cruise missile from Russian Airspace.
Wouldn't it be fun seeing the possibility of S300 shooting down a Tu 160?

    The FOAB is a meme.
    >Be USA
    >Make the MOAB
    >Record it and publish data
    >Suddenly Russia appears
    >'Makes' the FOAB
    >Doesn't record it
    >publishes data that means it is superior to MOAB in all ways
The fact they've done this multiple times (maybe even dozens) throughout the last 30 years is hilarious.
    >Be USA
    >Said you've developed a self-aiming sniper round
    >say it has a 3km range
    >Russia appears
    >Says it too has a self-aiming sniper round
    >But it has 5km range!

    >Be USA
    >Say you got a new SPG coming out (M1299)
    >Says it has like 40km range
    >Suddenly Russia appears
    >Says it has a new SPG coming out that hit a target 50km (or was it 60kM?) away
    >Again, no images, no data, just 'yeah it was better'

    >Be USA
    >Have HIMARS
    >Russia appears
    >Releases data sheet proving the superiority of t he SMERCH by mentioning more wheels is better

Like if I was sure it wasn't just macho man attitude Russia uses to impress their public and scare their neighbours I would say that the Russian MIC is literally a western front to scare USA into making better shit.

It's literally just a large thermobaric bomb, there's no secret on how to build a MOAB/FOAB. The difficult part is to have a bomber large enough to carry one and drop it on the enemy

I know. I am merely stating that everything Russia has/claims to has is a 'one up' of what USA has. Therefore chances are Russia doesn't have a stockpile of FOAB, if they even had one in the first place. Getting some guys to guess the numbers and say 'yep we totally did it' is much cheaper than actually doing it.

Whoever invents a machine that gives self awareness to russians and other thirdies will solve most of the worlds problems

Anon... Machines can't do that. You need bioengineering for that. And sadly Eugenics are illegal. (Do note despite the memes Eugenics aren't just genocyde, any attempt to modify the gene pool of the human race is considered Eugenics, be it GMOs, breeding, whatever. So until we get those pesky human rights abolished, we're shit out of luck.)

      You're not wrong.

Russia always has a oneupsmanship game going on where they feel the need to create similar equipment to the US despite it not having a place in their doctrine or strategic needs. FOAB is a pretty clear cut example. MOAB/GBU-57 is an EXTREMELY niche weapon for the US that has low production numbers as a result, it's yield is the result of needing to generate shockwaves deep into the earth for bunker busting. It was made purely because the current inventory was incapable of dealing with very deep hardened structures deep inside enemy territory so it needed to be carried by the B-2.

FOAB on the other hand fulfills no niche and is less effective at it's proposed role than current munitions. It's FAE so it's only useful for surface targets, so large that it can only be used by transports or theoretically a Tu-160, neither of which are particularly survivable and it's potential targets would be better served by Fullback's with 500kg FAE munitions that could cover a wider area while being on a more survivable platform.

    why does it have foreskin?

I"m guess its to put center of air drag further forward of the bombs center of mass. Helps with tracking by pushing the nose away from the wind direction so it doesn't turn and divert because it turned

I wonder how many do they have, if they have to resort to using S-400 rockets as ground-to-ground weapons.

They should have dropped one on Kiev on the first day when they still had the chance.
