The SPECIFIC portability scenario is highly relevant so post details if you want useful advice from people who have container workshops.
What is your budget?
What type of work do you wish to perform?
"Portable" with what specific vehicle/trailer?
Frequently portable or as future-proofing in case you move?
Portable at what speed?
>Can it fit under a bridge?
Of course otherwise it would not be deliverable to most locations. Know DOT stuff AND your actual local bridge heights in case truckers avoid any non-standard height bridges. I have four High Cubes so far and want more. You want a "one trip" grade.
If you plan on moving it often I'd buy a container trailer before buying the container then have the seller place the container on that trailer. I would then buy a second set of landing gear to deload the rear tandems to be kind to their rather expensive tires.
I'm not going to waste time posting details of how I did my shops yet again until you post your container with a timestamp or loaf of bread posed on its end by the box. I can tell you in exhaustive detail what works based on personal experience. I don't show my boxes because I've a rather expensive vintage motorcycle collection I wish to stay mine but can take pics of useful features like my hanging shelves. I am not autspergic re: appearance inside or out but if you're near a road doing what I did by painting the road side camo to blend with my bushes may suit your case.
You want a 40' (or longer) "one trip" grade High Cube because condemned WWT grades unfit for maritime service need MUCH more work to keep out rain (door gaskets etc). I made that mistake so you don't have to.
We could have a good container thread confined to workshops not fantasy spergwank if you like. I place some of mine on railroad ties with others on heavy steel beams (used of course, they're out there. You do NOT want your box on bare ground. Post when yours arrives.
If it is that common, then why did we need a thread about it? Do i need to start a thread about wiping my own ass today so everyone can cheer and applaud?
its a great project you just came to the wrong place for advice, nothing but crab mentality a morons here. i was on the same boat but im tired of boxes. im looking to build a modular ho e/workshop from ground up. Light gauge steel framing is cheap in my area my only concern is the exterior.might go with stainless steel
Oh don't get me wrong, it's not a bad project. Just not thread worthy. If he had asked a question about how to do it, inviting a meaningful discussion or somehow not just barging in here stating he wants to make a portable workshop out of this then it might be thread worthy.
Don't worry though, I doubt he'll pull through with it. He's just larping. I've moved several containers for myself. But 98% of the people on here are just bullshitting about containers.
OP here. Let me get the discussion back on track with some pertinent details. I plan to move the portable workshop around with a cargo bike, possibly electrically boosted since I live in a hilly area. Anyone with experience doing this is encouraged to share details.
As long as it's a home made cargo bike geared for speed, 90 degree head angle, and no rear brake you should be fine. Get it going downhill and let the momentum carry you up over the next hill.
It's never going to happen. You're never going to do these things. You just like the ridiculous idea of a workshop you can move with a pedal bike geared really low. But it's just an idea, a dream.
>It's going to have a work bench and vice in it.
yep. it can handle that.
No shit
Can it fit under a bridge?
No fricking shit and I will be able to move it moron.
High quality post
The high cube is 114 inches high.
So bridges are roller than that probably plus axles
You're one of those fairly stupid people
Oh my God so frickivk hard to put a table in a box literally impossible kys
>Oh my God so frickivk hard to put a table in a box literally impossible kys
Then do it! (you won't)
we get lots of trolls and lots of fairly stupid people, but you are one of the few who appears to be actually insane.

Post when you can do more than stock footage pasta. You don't even have a container, just bootlips and blue gums.
Get the premium condition high cube or face a regretful future.
portable means you have the equipment to move it around (which you don't have)
now what?
>I want make a portable work shop out of this. It's going to have a work bench and vice in it.
Do it homosexual. I bet you won't.
Is it going to have a bidet and a cappuccino machine? Because if it doesn't, it's not a real portable workshop.
oh thank god i thought you were going to bury it
bumping so everyone can revel in OP's stupidity
What's so stupid? Making a workshop out of a storage container is as common as Herpes sores on a coaler.
If it is that common, then why did we need a thread about it? Do i need to start a thread about wiping my own ass today so everyone can cheer and applaud?
Did you install a bidet?
Just buy a canadian acoshack, they have all that shit already done to them and are cheap. The only big expense will be transporting it to your house.
Get a free camper off Craigslist, gut it and make it your own

You made the world dumber from this post. Good job Beavis.

You're going to need micro-rollers, easily fashioned from local clay soil.

^Bait because not even /b/ is that techtarded.
Nothing gets past you does it
how many human slaves can you store in these when they're not being used
can you use the container as a dungeon
Only if you sound insulate it to 129 decibels.
Yes get the tall ceiling one, my vice is strippers, and the additional height for the pole in important.
bumping a good idea that can work, perhaps in a life-changing way
