Gotta say it is a genius move.
Shoigu threated to strike population centers the other day if Kerch would be struck.
Now all hyper important routes north can be cut off instead.
Let the supplies pile up in Crimea. Big big explosive piles 🙂
It did go through the bridge and hit the pylon. You can see spalling on the opposite side of the pylon where it was hit too. Lots of exposed rebar all over it.
There's a very real chance that bridge will be unusable for any kind of military (eg heavy) equipment until extensive reinforcement.
I don't think I'd move heavy armor over it anymore. But that is strangely little damage I think, figured the fuse would be on or almost immediately after impact? Or is it more of a shaped charge.
It's a dual stage warhead, HEAT precharge makes a hole and the follow through bomb (official name) flies through and detonates on impact with the pylon,
see
Seems like a rather strange design. If you wanted to take out the pylon, why not have the missile hit it from an angle and have the entire charge hit it instead of this split work? Evidently it wasn't enough to break it as is.
The pylons are going to be beefy, that's kind of their only purpose, be sturdy to support all kinds of weight and other shit.
My best guess is that going through the surface a higher CEP is tolerated, SS has a terminal IIR seeker so it could find the pylon through DSMAC, but then again Russians could have deployed smoke there or whatever to obscure it.
Storm shadow will do nothing vs Kerch bridge. You will need about 30-50 to do any kind of real damage. Even if Russians fricked up with engineering its still too big
When ukrainians used to destroy bridges in Kherson with himars youl could see how little damage they did vs a small bridge. Even if you use storm shadow that have 4-5 times larger warhead the size of the bridge will compensate. The truck that exploded was carrying 23t of explosives and it only managed to destroy small part of it + there were 7 train tank cars that were burning.
>anon shows he has absolutely no understanding of how bridges work, nor that visible damage might not be the only damage done given heat fricks with metal and concrete making it dangerous to drive over
Based moron
>Based moron
They already repaired it once the next time it will be easier and faster. They will just change the concrete block between pillars and its done. Not sure why i even answer a guy who has the manners of vatnik.
>Even if you use storm shadow that have 4-5 times larger warhead the size of the bridge will compensate
Citation needed. You are comparing two incomparable warheads. Besides, the Storm Shadow has the BROACH warhead. It sounds ideal for the purpose.
>anon shows he has absolutely no understanding of how bridges work, nor that visible damage might not be the only damage done given heat fricks with metal and concrete making it dangerous to drive over
Based moron
The kherson bridge and crimea bridge are completely different construction.
The crimea bridge was a speedrun construction made out of pure chinesium that lacks the strength of the kerson bridge both conceptually and structurally.
Kherson: low, wide with thick as frick double pylons holding every segment
Crimea: tall, narrow with flimsy, cracked double pylons (single in some segments) holding up segments road
One or two hits to a single pylon will drop 2 segments of that bridge into the water.
they were at least capable of engineering and building sturdy shit out of concrete, how can this nation degrade to the point they can't REPRODUCE a fricking bridge pillar?

Yes, and we all know how that went in Kherson. The bridge was damaged so badly it became unusable, the Russian hat to build a pontoon bridge, that didn't worked out either and then they did a goodwill gesture. All whilst morons where claiming "bridge is fine"

that can't be real, right?
Reinforced concrete has plenty of steel, cracks don't mean the structure is broken but...there's only so much rebar can take.
the clucking of so-called ukraine outside the bears cave was a mild irritant.... but now the devils from london are coming into our cave.... the bear is now awoken by the devil and wienerrel.... when the bear gets up and looms over the wiener and devil.... the shadow will let them know....

What are you on about
It has been struck.
Breaking news
Kill every motherfricker!
For real?
Yes. The Guardian is stating it in their live updates.
Bring out the popcorn. This will be a long day
Wrong bridge morono
OK my bad, rage-boy
Anyway. Any bridge is good with me. Kerch next then
wrong bridge idiot
Imagine the storm shadow personified as a proper drunk British geezer on holiday

OP is moronic
2 bridges were struck this night, it's north crimea
The train one is a causeway no?
Most of it is. However the last section, the one struck, is built on a bridge.
> a whole two fricking bridges
YEEHAW
HERE WE GO, BABY
Did they connect the Donetsk railways with the rest of the occupied territory by now?
If not this is the only railway link to all of southern Ukraine
Gotta say it is a genius move.

Wrong bridge you fricktard and wrong missile. Looks like a work of GLSDB from HIMARS systems. But it's a repeat of last year kerson siege.
Do try to keep up. RTFT
Bridge is fine comrades! Anon, why don't you drive over first?
Just put some wooden planks over it.
I don't think I'd move heavy armor over it anymore. But that is strangely little damage I think, figured the fuse would be on or almost immediately after impact? Or is it more of a shaped charge.

I want to say “do you really think anyone is moronic enough to just drive over that?” But this is Russia so yeah probably
My best guess is that going through the surface a higher CEP is tolerated, SS has a terminal IIR seeker so it could find the pylon through DSMAC, but then again Russians could have deployed smoke there or whatever to obscure it.
>But that is strangely little damage
The support column and footing are lightly damaged, but one of the main girders is fricked
it went trough the bridge and hit the pillars. nice one.
>exposed rebar
How salty is the surrounding water?
Low salinity actually
Yeah half salinity of ocean, still no bueno
about as salty as vatniks today
oy vey, we have to hit it couple times more

Great!
Bridge fine

Several hits WILL bring the column down.
These posts are how I immediately know something fun is happening
>ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING
Nothing ever happens. This entire war is a snoozefest.
Oh shit I'm sorry
i have nothing to apologize for, storm shadow was always sick
Honestly I thought the BROACH warhead would have a greater effect on the bridge than it did. Not knocking the British just an observation
Imagine if the UKies would have used the Challengers instead of the shitty Leos for the offensive... would have clapped the vatniks by now...
