I posted here a while ago about making a chainmail vest out of used butcher's aprons. Here it is. I connected the pieces with split rings which normally used for fishing. It cost me $120 total, which is pretty nice considering vests of this kind cost $300 minimum. It's surprisingly light and cool.
Now I wanna construct some kind of a headpiece.

Is the pattern different near the neck part or why does it appear to be less densely woven in the middle?
It's not tailored, so it naturally spreads out where the body is wider. It doesnt seem to affect the comfort though.
