i just became a first-time homeowner.

i just became a first-time homeowner. i'm young & inexperienced, and looking for inspiration and advice for making my home a home, with a particular focus on self sufficiency. my abode is a 20 ft pullout camper, circa 1980. it has plenty of problems, feel free to inquire. post your comfy interiors, share your advice on rural/off grid homesteading, as well as any other things you've learned as a homeowner.

    >halp, guise. Im in over my head
If youre all alone, you had better switch to a minimalistic life right away.
One serious injury or illness and you'll end up overwhelmed with catching up once youre better.
Having nothing on your property to bother with is going to reduce your caloric needs, reduce time wasted and allow for a more dynamic lifestyle.

Use whatever money you have to move to a third world shithole, work at a call center and get a real life.

homeowner (camper) or landowner or what?

If all you have is a camper, put it some where it works. I signed up for helpx and found a homesteader to learn from. Although frequently they have some kind of room & board setup, I prefer to have 'my own place'. Currently helping a family with their atrociously infertile land on central wv.

It's the issue with all the land here; it's been cleared and farmed in a moronic fashion, that left all the organic material running into the river. Needs swales and terracing. Swales work better on gentle slopes, terracing on steep slopes.

You don't make it clear whether you have land or not. It sounds like you got a few acres and a camper, which is fine. Nate Petroski had just a camper when he moved onto his land. But he had a long prior history as a builder.

full time in a camper is much different from living in a home. you are going to want to focus on clean, no clutter and efficiency. I would focus on a hobby you can put away easily, like knitting and keep minimal stuff in a single bin. Focus on organizing and reducing cookware, compartmentalizing things into bins that maximize storage space etc.

    are you parking or moving?

I learned to think for more than a second about why a door is where it is, and the kind it is. Sliding fold up sort of door to my basement, always jams as I open it. 20 beers deep going down to do laundry. Jams, annoyed. Frick it I'll put a normal swinging door rip it off it's tracks breaking it.

A swinging door will swing in the way of the hall or way of storage at the top of the stairs there. Also, it's drafty cause winter. Lol
