I have obviously never been involved in anything like this, but it seems the cop that got shot made a pretty basic mistake.

Officer Wilt gets shot at about 20 seconds in

>active shooter inside bank
>bank has one way glass so the shooter can see out of it but you can't see him
>proceed to walk directly across the field of view he would have from inside the bank
>get shot in the head

I'm no expert but wasn't there a better way to approach this? I mean why the frick would you do that? I understand you have to make entry into the bank to address the threat, but why give him such an easy target?

Wait was it one way glass? In a previous thread about this, people were saying it was just the reflection/light difference and claiming that the officer would have been able to engage the shooter if he had a scope.

Either way the result is the same, it looked like one way glass to me but I don't know for a fact. If mean yeah, if he had a scope. Also, if he had a helmet maybe he would have survived, but he had what he had.

The scope issues was directed at the other officer who wasn't shot and wasn't able to return fire until the shooter shot out the glass

one way glass is also just making best use of light differences. basically, the outside on a sunny day is like 500 times brighter than indoors. regular glass reflects about 10% of light, 90% passes through. 10% of 500 is 500, 90% of 1 is 0.9. so when viewed from outside, the reflection on the glass is about 55 times brighter than what's behind the glass.
one way glass just bumps up the ratio of reflection/transmission by coating it.

Beat cops sent in to do a tactical units job. They shouldn't send in regular cops to immediately rush a shooter with an assault rifle unless it is a school shooter.

Not that guy but I don't see why a school shooting is automatically worse than other types of shootings, you say kids, I mean they're basically adults. I don't think you could get anyone in America to publicly say "The loved ones that were shot in the bank mattered less than the loved ones that were shot in the school."

Kids are literally worthless potentials, college kids are perhaps worth saving but prior to that like highschool or preschool, them dying is not a huge cost to society unless its your own kids. Grown adults between 20 and 40 that actually work are the lifeblood of a nation as should be protected at the very least equally as ferverently.

For sure, when they tally up the death toll of the shooting children should only count as half a point

Ah the early Roman style, they don't even count as human till they hit 13 so you can kill them if you want.

Schools can have hundreds to thousands of kids, banks what ? 30 including employees? Kids dying are objectively worst/sadder then adults dying seethe all you want

Much easier to cover up when the cops kill kids, see what happened in Texas.
