One group had a day of chanting angry slogans, walked around a federal building, filmed themselves pulling dumb pranks, and then fought with the cops when they realized they weren't being let out. The other group started by doing the same but was allowed to escalate so much a couple dozen people got killed, hundreds of buildings got burned, and billions of dollars in goods got looted. San Fran recalled their DA because he passed guidelines that prevented cops from intervening on property crimes unless the caller could prove the value of the theft or damage was over $1000. It caused people to just walk into businesses, fill garbage bags with stuff and then walk out without paying while the staff just watched. The situation got so bad all the drug stores were closing and it was getting hard for people to get their prescriptions
