How white trash is it to make a pond out of an above ground pool?
I have spots on my property that aren't visible from the road

Are you farming fish? If so, who gives a frick what people think. If you're making a lgbt pond for aesthetics, at least burry the fricking thing and add a waterfall.
If my neighbor had a pond full of beautiful fish and crystal clear, non chemically laced water vs. some grubby booger flicking kids screaming all summer I'd consider that a step up. Shouldn't be a problem either way, but if it's out of sight there's really nothing to worry about. Go for it.

Weird, I can't stand leaf blowers, yappy dogs, and loud music, but kids screaming and laughing sounds cool to me; maybe it's because they are a few lots away.
OP just do what you want, worrying about it being trashy is inherently trashy.
same, its the sounds of a happy summer. Im glad im not so jaded i that i hate the sound of kids playing.
If you already have a pool its fine. Otherwise just do a stock tank
I see people giving them away all the time on FB marketplace
To answer OPs question
Yes its pretty white trash
Unless you have a deck it's going to be too tall to even see the fish or plants you'll put in there.
You'll need a fence to stop kids from drowning themselves in it
Used pools are of questionable durability and might flood your yard, your neighbors yard, and your neighbors neighbors yard
I live innawoods, no kids and nothing on any side of me but cows
Use a big tire instead
My grandpa dug a giant frickin hole and buried his to make a pond, it looked nice, had a deck surrounding it as well. That's for looks though, as other anon said, just leave it above groujd if you're just trying to farm fish
when I was a kid I turned out above ground pool into a frog pond because I loved frogs. Probably had 300 frogs croaking at once
